IE 11 Enterprise site list not working

$

0

My clients do not load my enterprise list. I have tried the following...
1.Create a sites.xml file using the Site List Manager tool and store it on a network location accessible by all clients

2. Enabled the user based policy Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Let users turn on and use Enterprise Mode from the Tools menu"

3.Enabled the "Use the Enterprise Mode IE website list" group policy option and entered the appropriate URL to access the sites.xml file.
3.Verified that the client applied the policy

The Key get written to the Registry

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\EnterpriseMode]
"Enable"=""
"SiteList"="\\Servername\share\sites.xml

But it does not seem like my list is being used.
According to this link https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/azure/en-US/6c266558-a7f0-4169-a0a7-668899b1653e/ie-11-enterprise-mode-on-remote-desktop-server?forum=ieitprocurrentver
A key with the current version of the enterprise list should be created
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\EnterpriseMode]

(REG_SZ)"CurrentVersion"

How ever there is no EntpriseMode Key at that location. What else could I check?

I have run Internet Explorer for more than the 65 Seconds, also have already done multiple restarts but a current version key is not created.

The Patch 2929437 is already installed and I can manually enable Enterprise mode for a website from Tools menu but the website which I have mentioned is not opening automatically in Enterprise mode

Short URL doesn't redirect to the right page

Hi,

i have to insert in a Sharepoint's page a list of links. Some of this link have a long url, it's long over 255 characters and i tried to use Gooogle Shortener or Tiny to abbreviate its.

So, in my computer the redirect to long URL is correct and it works. But in another computer (with the same internet connection, it's the company network) the short URL redirects to an Error Page "Network access message - the page cannot be displayed".

The url of the Error Page is the short URL (sorry but i can't offer you a screenshot).

How can i resolve? Why in my computer i see the correct URL and instead not in another?

Thanks

Uninstalling IE11 doesn't fully remove it

Hi. If I uninstall Internet Explorer 11 through control panel the uninstallation finishes but it doesn't fully remove IE11. It leaves the PC running IE9 but unable to reinstall IE11 because it thinks it is still installed. I can resolve this by using the Microsoft Fixit site for problem installs and uninstalls, the tool finding IE11 still even though control panel doesn't. What I want to know though is what the fixit tool did to clean up the IE11 uninstallation so I can prepare a script to automate it on a number of machines. Can anybody enlighten me?

Thanks

Mark

Is there a way to turn on IE 11 Enterprise Mode for all urls / windows from a given server?

We have been testing IE 11 with Intranet URL. each of the URL is working fine when Enterprise mode is enabled from Tools menu, but the issue is the output report will generate a new URL each time a new report is displayed as output in new browser window

Is there a way to turn on IE 11 Enterprise Mode for all urls / windows from a given server?

Here's an example of the urls this application is using:

http://app1.abc.com/forms/frmservlet?config=toa (base url used to logon to the application)

http://app1.abc.com/forms/output/CTRL_12_02_15_To_12_03_15.csv (url for report #1)

http://app1.abc.com/forms/output/CTRL_12_04_15_To_12_02_17.csv ( url for report #2)

IE 11 blocks access to "Microsoft Update" service

$

Using Windows Update on Windows 7 SP1, there is an option to enable "Microsoft Update" at the bottom to also update Office and other Microsoft applications:

Get updates for other Microsoft products. Find out more.

,

This opens a webpage, which in IE 10 and earlier, allows me to enable Microsoft Update.

However, IE 11 does not show the page to enable Microsoft Update but shows a useless and unrelated help message:

Use your Start menu to check for updates

How am I supposed to enable the optional Microsoft Update service now?

Need EXACT location and value of registry setting for "Always Allow Session cookies" and the "Accept" option for "First Party Cookies"

First things first, thanks to all who can help.....

I need to programmatically make some adjustments to the Internet Explorer security settings. Most of these settings I have found but there are a few I have not been able to get a clear exact location for in the registry. I will be using a .BAT file to make the adjustments on 100+ PCs.

Here is what I am looking for.....

Under the "Internet  Properties" found in control panel, under the "Privacy" tab there is an "Advanced" option button. When I click on it I get an "Advance Privacy Settings" options box. On it are several settings. The first setting, "Override automatic cookie handling" needs to be checked in order to access the other options. I can do that by adjusting the DWord value of "PrivacyAdvanced" under the "Internet Settings" key in the registry,"HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet settings", to be specific.

What I have not been able to find are the registry entries for the "First-party Cookies" "Accept, Block, or Prompt" options, the "Third-party Cookies" "Accept, Block, or Prompt" options, and the "Always allow session cookies" check box. Please see picture below....

I have seen references to the following settings as being where those options exist, but nothing that explains what each byte/bit controls so I don't know if or where in these settings I will find the control for the 3 things I need to adjust. I don't want to blindly accept some code someone says includes the settings I need. I need to know exactly what to do to change ONLY the 3 things I am looking for.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\3]"{AEBA21FA-782A-4A90-978D-B72164C80120}"=hex:1a,37,61,59,23,52,35,0c,7a,5f,20,\17,2f,1e,1a,19,0e,2b,01,73,13,37,13,12,14,1a,15,2a,4e,2c,08,0d,20,1b,28,18,\36,32"{A8A88C49-5EB2-4990-A1A2-0876022C854F}"=hex:1a,37,61,59,23,52,35,0c,7a,5f,20,\17,2f,1e,1a,19,0e,2b,01,73,13,37,13,12,14,1a,15,39,4e,2c,08,0d,20,1b,28,18,\36,32

Any help finding those settings will be greatly appreciated.

Currently I am using Win 7 Ent x64 and IE 10. But I also need to know how to

control these settings for IE 9 and 11 and for Windows 7, 8, and even the

spy ware, oops I meant Windows 10.

Thanks for the help,

Ralph

IE11 - no certificate name mismatch warning

$

we have some non-production websites using (thawte) SSL certificates that were made for their production counterparts. the SSL certificates are not wildcards and do not have multiple SANs. so the website demo.mycompany.com is using a certificate forwww.mycompany.com.

so i expect a name mismatch warning, but for some reason IE 11 is not giving me one. even if I browse to the internal hostname or IP address of the IIS server hosting the website, I don't get an error about the name mismatch. this happens on a windows 7 machine and a windows 8.1 machine.

no, thawte has never heard of "10.160.11.33". this concerns me a little bit. shouldn't it?

How to debug browser crash of Internet Explorer 10 (Internet Explorer has stopped working)

Hey,

we are currently facing a problem with our SharePoint Site crashing the Internet Explorer 10. We have no idea which custom code triggers this crash and why.

  • We have no Problem with IE9, IE11, Chrome or FireFox.
  • If we change the tab while loading the page in the IE10 and switch back, everything works fine.
  • It crashes on all Windows 7 Systems tested so far. Seems to be no Policy problem.
  • All Addons disabled, same problem
  • Cleared cached Data, same problem

Hi all,

after updating Office 2007 to O365 (Version 15.x) a message is displayed when opening Internet explorer.

The message is ' "The office document cache handler" add-on from 'Microsoft Corporation' is ready for use ' with two options "Enable" or "don't enable".

Does anyone know if there is a way to suppress this message?

Thanks in advance,

Andy

IE 11 always waiting for SharePoint Online

$

At seemingly random times throughout the day, some of our users will be unable to access OneDrive or SharePoint with IE 11.  It just continuously shows a white screen and "Waiting on <tenant>.sharepoint.com".  I've let it wait for 15 minutes and it never errors.  I can go to Exchange Online fine, but OneDrive and SharePoint both just sit there spinning.  When I click About Me, it also hangs.  This issue only affects IE and the only way I've found to resolve it is by rebooting the computer.  When IE is hanging, Firefox and Chrome successfully open to the site without issues.  Sometimes it happens once a day.  Other days it happens multiple times.

I've done a network trace with the F12 Debugging Tools, and IE never gets past the initial request for the page.  I've tried running "iexplore.exe -extoff" without succcess.  I've tried troubleshooting with Office 365, but they directed me here.

Thanks for any help anyone can give.

.PDF File extension being stripped from download Internet Explorer (also certain sites not loading in IE but will in Chrome)

$

A really weird issue has arisen on a 2012R2 Terminal server.

In IE or Chrome, when a PDF is downloaded, the file extension will be stripped from the name. (.exe and .zip files do not appear to suffer)

For example items on this page, beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/03452791/filing-history

Download from the site without the file extension on them and need to have it added manually.

This happens in both Chrome and IE11 but do not appear to happen at our other customers or even in our own office.

Second Issue is related to the same customer, in that on the same terminal server certain sites will not load in IE but will load perfectly in Chrome.

The following page is a PDF as well so it might be a related issue, when trying to load it in IE they get a "This page can't be displayed" This happens with other sites but I do not have a list of them at the moment.

http://goo.gl/fAhGE6 is the shortlink for it.

The weirder thing is that their other servers have no problem with this site and they all use the same server for DNS as well.

For opening PDF files we currently have Foxit Reader installed. Which has worked perfect over the past 2 years.

Can anyone think of a setting that might be causing it?

Unable to open Microsoft office documents(excel, word) in Internet Explorer when we enforce strict TLS 1.2 protocol (Disabling SSL v2,SSL v3,TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1)on the webserver

Unable to open Microsoft Office documents(excel, word) in Internet Explorer when we enforce strict TLS 1.2 protocol (Disabling SSL v2,SSL v3,TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1)on the webserver. We tested by removing strict TLS 1.2 and IE is able to open the document fine.

Error description : We see a Microsoft Excel Security Warning with the following content.

Certificate error

The application experienced an internal error loading the SSL libraries.

When we disabled SSL V2 and SSL V3, the document opens fine but when TLS 1.0 is disabled we are seeing the  pop-up with certificate error. We tried to open the reports in CSV format, 2007 format and 2003 format and all of them have the same issue. Does Internet Explorer have any restrictions when TLS 1.2 is strictly enabled ?

Note : We are able to download the document using Internet explorer and the document opens fine from local but opening the document from the browser fails with certificate error.

IE 11: Set Google as Default Search Engine with Registry

Hey Guys

I need your help

I want to determine by registry/policy, that Google is set as Default. I already saw some questions about this here and there, but i tried these settings as recommended, with no success.

So here is what I've done:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchScopes\{0633EE93-D776-472f-A0FF-E1416B8B2E3A}\

“URL”=”http://www.google.com.au/search?q={searchTerms}&sourceid=ie7&rls=com.microsoft:{language}:{referrer:source}&ie={inputEncoding?}&oe={outputEncoding?}”

“DisplayName”=”Google”

"(Default)"="Google"

I overwrite all of the Default given Bing Properties and I didnt create a new key or deleted one.

Where is my Problem?

I still get Bing as Search Engine.

Cheers

Launching Terminal Services Session. This may take from a few seconds to a couple of minutes, depending on your bandwidth."

and nothing happens.  Can anyone advise what is stopping this from launching as this was working prior to upgrade.
