Some small background - I work at a helpdesk. The user is using IE 11.0.9600.18059 in horizon VMware client 3.5.2 with dual screen monitors.


This issue is only affecting 1 user out of 250, or at least shes the only one reporting it. 

In the morning when she logs in she opens up her VMware, loads IE, and clicks her favorite menu bar to open the drop down menu. When she does this, the menu appears on the right hand side of the screen instead of the left hand side where the browser is actually open.

Tier 3 has re-complied the VM ops pool
I have deleted her VM and recompiled it.
I have deleted her main windows login profile and recompiled it
I have tried having her shorten both the names of her favorites
I have tried having her shorten how many favorites are displayed at once.

The only suggestion I haven't done is swap the monitors because it doesnt seem like that would help as they are both the same size, and its a matter of doing it after hours. As this is a minor issue, my other after hours tasks take priority of what I need to do, since they are at other sites.

Hi I have a user base of about 5000 and am trying to limit the use of active X controls. Am I able to disable all active x controls through GP and then add an exception to a whitelist or similar to allow only the ones that we require through? Is that possible?

We run a web proxy server on our network for internet access.

On client machines (running Windows 2012 R2) I have configured the proxy server setting in Internet Explorer "Tools\Internet Settings\Connections\LAN Settings" to point at the designated web proxy server.

When attempting to browse websites from IE I receive the "The proxy server isn't responding" error.

Conversely, browsing the same sites via Google Chrome and Firefox (installed on the same client server) return web pages without error.

In addition, if I run Internet Explorer as administrator (Right Click\Run as Administrator), I am able to browse web sites without receiving the error.

It would appear that the issue is isolated to browsing via IE when not run in elevated mode.

Has anyone come across this issue?

Hi,

I have a old CRM system that must be run in Enterprise mode (it will be upgraded soon). The sitelist works fine through group policy, however the CRM is running on port :5555 how do I specify in the sitelist so the Enterprise mode start also on this port?

I have added the site to xml file but site list manager removes port number from url. The sites.xml file looks like this:

  <emie>
  <domain exclude="false">crm<path exclude="false">/company</path></domain>
  </emie>
</rules>

Now if I visit the site http://crm (which only contain IIS splash page), enterprise mode is enabled. However if I visit the real site on port 5555: http://crm:5555/ Enterprise mode is NOT on.

How can I make sitelist to force IE11 in enterprise mode on a different/specified port (or all ports) for a domain?

Hi.Hi my same server (windows server 2012 R2) works as DHCP as well as IIS server.PAC file hosted in IIS and is pushed to the system through 252 option per segment in DHCP but PAC file is not working in few segments (not reflecting in reg edit),but working for maximum segments in the same server.Have followed the basic steps like:

1)      Deleted - DefaultConnectionSettings and SavedLegacySetting

2)      Cleared cache

3)      Added WpadOverride

4)      Removed "DhcpInterfaceOptions”

 

But still no help...

Kindly help to resolve...

I am helping my neighbor with her new laptop, moving pictures, files, etc. from her old one to her new one. Everything looks good, except for one thing: I set Google as her home page, and it works fine, except that the Google logo does not appear; instead, there is the small box with an "x" in it.

I have tried the following: Tools-> Internet Options -> Advanced -> Reset....to no avail. I have also tried the above pathway, then checking to assure that the "Show Pictures" option is checked in "Multimedia," also to no avail. I have also gone to Tools -> Compatibility View Settings -> then added 'Google.com' -> Add" ...also to no avail. So now I'm out of ideas. Other websites, such as Amazon or whatever show up fine, with pictures and all. Any ideas? Help would be much appreciated.

She is running IE 11.0 on a HP 15 laptop, with Windows 8.1 64-bit OS.

I noticed that Internet Explorer 11 has memory leaks with big webfonts like Korean webfonts.

For example:

Hello,

Is it possible to import cookies by script, whether it be a .vbs or batch file?  I would like to have all of my users have a cookie that enables SafeSearch for Google without them having to enable it.

Currently we are running IE9 in our Enterprise and utilizing admin templates through Group Policy. We are getting ready to push out IE 11. My understanding is once you install IE 11 the adm templates will be updated through the inetres file. The question is how do I run multiple versions of IE with their respective admin templates until we are done piloting 11 and phase out 9 completely.

When we try to use internal websites (sites like hostname.some.subdomain.com:NNNN/some/path/ ) internet explorer 11 shows autocomplete entries for previous visits to those websites, but, when selected, it then searches bing for those URLs, and that makes very little sense to do.

it's an address bar. it's where addresses are typed in. I don't want internal website addresses (frankly, any website addresses) to turn into a bing search. I don't search from the address bar. Ever. In previous versions I could disable that, and in this version that option seems to have been replaced with "go directly if a single word is typed in [intranet site like "home" or "intranet" or "sharepoint", etc.] ", but that doesn't disable the search feature enough to avoid still continuing to search when internal websites are entered/selected in the address bar.

Is there some other place to disable the search, so that addresses typed into the address bar work?

Hi,

I would like to remove domains that are added compatibility view via registry key / GPO. I'm going to disable compatibility view to Authenticated users. Q is in my testing found that if we disable compatibility view option existing domains that added will be there and we do have option to remove after implementation of GPO.

Hi,

Internet Explorer 11 not give any response if i click on the link.

platform(Windows 7-64 bit )

i have checked in the task manager,even there also nothing is showing as process iexplorer.

it wont give any error or crashes.

reinstalled  2 ,3 times and did sfc/scannow.

restarted the machine with new installtion,still there is not response.

could please suggest me any solution to avoid a for mating.

Hi,

I'm trying to apply proxy settings to a domain with IE11. I'm currently using Windows 10 to do this as you need to be >8 to be able to set policies for IE10/11.

When I'm configuring Internet Explorer in the 'Internet Settings' section of the GPO, I can set everything up correctly including the proxy information. However, as soon as I set an exception on the advanced section and save it, the proxy will be blank on all of my clients.

It's only when there's an exception, without the exception it works flawlessly.

It seems to be a pretty known bug but no one seems to have any sort of fix.

Does anybody know of another way I can set the exceptions?

Hello,

I have a scenario where in I am trying to open SAP Business object link using IE 10 and IE 11.

With IE10, when I try to open the link which is integrated in my application, the link opens without any issue.

On the other hand, with IE11, the report does not open and displays : "An error occurred while trying to view the document".

When I check the url using developers tool and copy th url and paste it in a different tab in IE 11 only, it opens.

After that, if I click the same link using my application, it works.

Could you please help me in knowing what could be the issue when working on IE11?

I have internet explorer 11 with windows 7.  After updating my internet explorer 8 to internet explorer 11, i have not been able to down any excel, word, pdf from the intranet.  

I have tried running in safemode with networking.  Internet explorer works if i run as an administrator, doesn't work running as a user.  Ran in compatibility mode, disabled all the manage add-ins.  Ran sfc /scan now.  Reset all zones, reset internet explorer settings.  Gave the user administrator rights.  Made sure download file was enabled in internet, intranet in security settings.

I am getting a constant "freezing" of IE 11 (I also get a message that indicates that the webpage I am visiting is causing IE to shut down, although this is happening on familiar sites.

Please advise
