Failing to remember credentials

$

Within the last few weeks, IE no longer will remember store credentials (username/ password) when it did before.  Windowsupdates were installed and I am wondering if it is a result of the updates.  The computer has been restarted several times. Not only will it not remember previously stored credentials, but it won't save the info. For example, I go to a site that previously work and subsequently manually type in my username/ password and click login.  Next IE will ask if I want to save my info and I click save.  Next time I visit the same site the info is not saved. It is a Windows 7 machine with IE 11.  The box is checked for install new versions automatically. For some reason on my other computer when you click internet options>content> AutoComplete> Settings, however, the "Manage Passwords" box is not there. Only the "Delete AutoComplete History...".  The "User names and passwords on forms" & "Ask me before saving passwords" boxes both are checked. Also, I have gone in to Credential Manager in the control panel the info I see is:

Windows Credentials - No Windows credentials

Certificate-Based credentials - No certificates

Generic Credentials - only one website and Outlook info is stored here

Consequently, I attempted to add the site manually under "Generic Credentials" and got the following error message:

Error Code - 0x80070057

Error Message - The parameter is incorrect.

IE 10 will not install in Windows 7 64 bit SP1

I go past the prompt that says "restarting programs".  Then the installation fails.  The updates are all up to the minute.

Please help me install IE 10

Here is the log.  Same error in three tries.  It gives the IE10 Failed to install message.

I have tried 2ue.com.au and 2gb.com.au listen live.  Both fail on Internet Explorer Version: 11.0.9600.18059 installed on a Windows 7 system.  They don't work on the Windows 8 either.

However both web sites work on Firefox.

In Windows server 2012 none of my scripts are working. The same works in 2008 server.

If I add the application to trusted  site or if I turn off the security setting to off it works fine. But I need a solution without changing these features. Please help me out in fixing it.

IEAK11 customisations in FLAT msi file

Hi. I was wondering if somebody to advise me whether customisations created in IEAK 11 are stored within the msi file within the FLAT folder, or whether they are only applied by use of the ins file in the INS folder? I haven't many customisations but I was hoping to apply changes to the search providers without having to apply an ins file.

Thanks

IE Missing from Win 10 Upgrade

Hello,

Back in August I had upgraded my windows 8.1 up to the new windows 10. Now a few months later I noticed that I do not have IE. I do not use it very often, and some of my work only supports IE for some silly reason. A taskbar search provides no results, and even sometimes points me towards Edge. Going to the IE download page tells me I already have the browser on my system and is all up to date, yet it is nowhere to be found.

Who has the IE8.0.6001.18702 c0

ie 8.0.6001.18702CO and ie 8.0.7601.17514

Anyone know what the differences might be in the versions.  I know the later is 256bit compared to the 128bit.
I am trying to install an application that uses IE as the front interface,   All the application components install successfully.  When I try to run the application in IE 8....18702CO, the application allows me to connect to the web server, but doesn't display the content.  I am using Silverlight, Google Frame and another image viewer.  Under the IE 8.....17514 configuration.  The application works perfectly.
Thanks,

How To Stop Internet Explorer 11 Prompting To Display Full-screen Mode

$

Is there a way to stop the desktop version of Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 8.1 from prompting whether you want a website to display content in full-screen mode?

When it displays the prompt "Do you want to view youtube.com in full screen?  (Press Esc to exit.)", if you select 'Always Allow', it doesn't permanently remember this setting, as it will be reset when the browsing history is deleted.  Surely there must be a setting somewhere to prevent it from displaying this prompt every time?

And I said hey, what's going on...

Sites work using manual proxy but not with automatic detect

I asked this in the ISA forum but they said since the WPAD file isn't generated by ISA to cross-post over here.

We have an ISA 2006 build 5.0.5712 operating as our web proxy. We have WPAD configured both in DNS and in DHCP to point to this ISA server. There are two sites (rentsentinel.com and epmsonline.com) which when we use the 'Automatically detect settings' option in IE8, it either gives red X's in part of the homepage (rentsentinel), or doesn't show the page at all (epms). If we manually specify the proxy settings for this same server, it works fine. It would also appear that one can browse fine on random sites, but once we attempt to browse to one of these two sites,  that further browsing to other sites no longer works, even those we visited in the same browsing session.

If I manually specify the http://wpad/wpad.dat file in the config field, no change in behavior. But if I use that same entry in Firefox, both websites render fine. Our wpad.dat is included below, with our internal domain name switched to domain.com.

I'm looking for help on getting these sites working correctly with automatic detection. Thanks!

pc.I upgraded my pc to Windows 10 maybe about a week ago and just recently installed Mozilla Firefox cause i read that

it is one of the better web browsers and i believe the company had made some improvements on it as well.Well,i also have

Chrome too as well as Microsoft Edge..the browser that comes with Windows 10 that is better than Internet Explorer.

I don't need all these..i would just rather have Chrome,Firefox and maybe Edge should i use it.I want to completely do away

with the current version of Internet Explorer that i have but i keep getting messages like i need administrator permission to

delete the file or permission from Trusted Installer again and again.I tried rebooting in Safe Mode to see if i could remove it

but that didn't do anything either.I tried using a command prompt but that seems rather a bit confusing for me.Should i just

go back to Windows 8.1 and remove or uninstall Windows 10 from my pc?Nothing i try seems to work for me.I don't think

Internet Explorer can even be completely uninstalled from a computer? It is part of Windows or Microsoft.Need help from a

Microsoft expert or Windows 10 expert on this issue.I now have it hidden with the properties tab.I also unchecked it from the

turn Windows programs on or off list on my pc..but that just hides it i think too.Need help.

How can you update/install Internet Explorer 11 on Microsoft Server 2008 R2 after it fails getting an error code 9C47 or 9C49?

Greetings fellow Windows enthusiasts,

I was asked to update our Windows 2008 R2 server from IE 10 to IE11, and it will not install properly.  I have looked up several solutions to this issue, so far nothing has worked.

I disabled McAfee HBSS in safe mode, restarted the PC and tried to run Windows Update managed by a WSUS server.  The update gets approved and pushed out to the 2008 R2 server.  It downloads IE11, tries to install, then fails/errors-out at the last second.   I have tried this a few times, rebooted and either get error code 9C47 or 9C49.

Some of the fixes I have tried:

  • I turned of internet connectivity and the anti-virus, that did not work
  • I tried the Windows Update repair tool, that did not work
  • I tried the Windows System Readiness tool, that did not work
  • I tried to scan the system files for errors with sfc /scannow and that did not work
  • I tried installing the other updates first, restarting and it still fails
  • I removed the server from WSUS and re-added it and it will not update
  • I tried the stand-alone IE11 installer, and it fails at the very last step and then gives me an error with a link to troubleshoot IE installations
  • I have uninstalled IE10, and now am totally stuck with the absolutely horrible experience of IE9
  • SURT returns no errors
  • SFC returns no errors

Technical information:

I have checked the Windows Update log file, the last errors that I found were as follows:

IE11 - Change Compatibility View Settings in Registry

Hello:

I'm trying to set up a desktop when any user opens IE11, both check marks would be enabled and set to compatibility mode.  Is there a way I can modify the registry file to ensure that the check marks are there?

Thank you,

This page can't be displayed - Turn on TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2 ** But TLS is already turned on.

I have a user that when they try to log into Duke Progress Energy's website at https://www.progress-energy.com/app/loginregistration/login.aspx it will redirect them to a "one time authentication" page which requires them to use a one-time key to log in on a new computer.  When going to this one-time website (secure8.i-doxs.net) it will get an error message that says...

This page can't be displayed

Turn on TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2 in the Advanced settings and try connecting to https://secure8.i-doxs.net again.  If this error persists, contact your site administrator.

Well, I'm the site administrator and I can confirm that TLS 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 are all enabled and forced by GPO.  Restarting IE and rebooting did not help.  Chrome and Firefox both work flawlessly.

Edit: This is IE 11 on Windows 8.1 Enterprise.

Edge not displaying Aleks.com and other websites

Recently Microsoft Edge and Explorer 11 are not showing the math website associated with a college course. There used to not be an issue. I'm running Windows 10 and really enjoy Edge, however, if the compatibility with this website is now lost I'll have to migrate back to Chrome which admittedly I do not care for.

When trying to access https://paypaperbills.postbillpay.com.au/postbillpay/default.aspx I get the error message "This organization's certificate has been revoked." Only "Click here to close this webpage." is available to click on.

Running Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 7.

This site is accessible from other computers.

I have tried clearing Internet Explorer cache, resetting advanced settings, and disabling "Check for publisher's certificate revocation".
