I am using Internet Explorer 9 and when I open a link on a webpage which opens a new window to download a pdf, IE asks for authentication to the website again. IE 6 didnot so that. What are the configurations which control this?

Web Animated Image Sequences
Hi,
I am a year 3 computer science student at the National University of Singapore. I am currently doing a study on web animated image sequence (APNG, GIF, WebP, etc).
GIF is the dominating animate image sequence today. However, many argued that there are better formats such as APNG and WebP, and they should replace GIF. i would like to inquire on Internet Explorer's view on animated web image sequences and will there ever be support for formats other than GIF in the future

Problems with IE10 and SharePoint webpart - Large font sizes
Hello all,
I encountered a problem when backing up the content database from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013 (and while using IE10). After restoring and adding
the content database to SharePoint 2013, I upgraded to UI 2013. My Web Part was assigned a large font size (this was working fine with IE9) because IE10 automatically added an h1 tag
outside of the div tag.
I can use the SharePoint Designer to remove the h1 tag.
But how can I remove the h1 tag
via code behind (or do you have other suggestions)?

IE10 displays blank pages when memory usage is "high"
I am very upset using IE10 but before I write an entire article on how bad it is, I just want a quick fix.
The problem is like this: after long research sessions whenever I open a new tab of webpage, the pages it displays are crippled. Blank, half-blank or anything in between. I cannot remember if this is the 100 times I have to save all the tabs, exit and restart IE in order to have the pages displayed correctly. Did I mention that I always have to check/kill traces of iexplore.exe in Task Manager because quite often it does not exit cleanly?
Any explanation or quick fix will help clarify this seemingly annoying problem I am having. Also, memory consumption is on the high side when compare to other browsers. When it reached 1000-1500MB IE starts having this problem.
Windows 8 on HP EliteBook, Intel Graphics 3000 with latest driver, 16GB ram running x64 iexplore - typical memory consumption for all instances of iexplore: 100-1500MB; typical memory usage of all applications - 4-14GB depending on workload but usually around 4-6GB.

error 2072
for the last four weeks, every time i use the Explorer and try to print from it and get an error that the script is not running and cant print. I beleive the error no. is 2072. Please help

IE8/9 says every file "contained a file and was deleted"
I have multiple computers on my domain that will not download files or attachments in IE8 and 9. It says "<filename> contained a virus and was deleted". Everything will download fine in Chrome and Firefox and these files do not contain viruses - it happens on every file I try to download, or every attachment in all emails.
Is there a setting in IE that is causing this - it is happening on about 30 computers out of 100 in our domain - all with the same group policy settings for IE.
We are clueless and frustrated to figure this out and ready to just roll out Chrome to everybody to fix the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

I was hoping that by loading default user's registry & adding 1609 values, all domain users who will be logging on to the computer will have enabled Display Mixed Content setting. I have read throughhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/182569/en-nz but can't seem to fix my problem. Please help.
Manually changing the values under HKEY_CURRENT_USER enables the setting but then its per user basis. How can I set it to take effect for every user?
Not much of group policy usage in our environment. I understand this can be done via GPO but I am asked to stay away from GPO.↧

Is there a way to enable the search in the address bar with Group policy for IE 10? The option is grayed out in IE for some reason.

Internet Explorer 10 cookies and roaming profiles (WebCache directory)
Hi,
I'm having a cookie problem on 2 out of 2 tested environments using Windows Server 2008 R2 (with roaming profiles) and Internet Explorer 10 (IEAK'ed) :S
For instance when I login to www.google.com with my username and password, as long as I'm using my Windows session I'm logged in towww.google.com every time I open the browser (with all iexplore.exe processes closed before). When I logoff my Windows session my (roaming) profile is beeing saved on the fileserver and the locally cached Windows profile is beeing deleted.
When I logon to Windows again (on the same computer) the roaming profile is beeing copied from the fileserver to my client (including the .txt cookies), butwww.google.com isn't logging me in automatically. The same thing happens with other cookies related stuff on websites :S
Also tried WITH and WITHOUT folder redirection for AppData/Cookies/etc, even a newly installed environment with Microsoft defaults is giving me problems.
Anybody out there having the same problem ?

ie10 opens then closes
have a windows 7 pro 64 bit system joined to a small domain with ie 10 that will open and close immediately. this happens under local and domain profiles and the domain users logging in are admin equivalent. some things I have tried with no success are:
disabling addons, reseting the advanced settings, changing home page, reinstalling flash player, running the fixit in article id 2579295, the following command below for both version 9 and 10.

tried removing kb2807986 and kb2791765 as stated in a prior Microsoft community article extremely similar dated 4/7/13
the system restore is turned off so I can't go back to a prior restore date.
there is no mention of version 9 or version 10 in add/remove program.
when you go to add/remote features version 8 is not checked but you can check it and let it go through the process that appears to be an installation process and request to restart.
when you go to try to install ver 10 you get a message "internet explorer did not finish installing - setup can't continue because a more recent version of internet explorer is installed on your computer"
if you try to install version 9 at any time you get a message "internet explorer did not finish installing - internet explorer 9 is already installed on this system"
I have looked through many of the articles online and tried for several hours to resolve this but i'm not sure where to go from here besides a reload of the op system.

How to make internet explorer the default for mailto to use google mail
When I select set default programas/internet explorer/choose defaults for this program MAILTO protocol is not there.
If I do exactly the same but selecting Chrome: MAILTO is there.
I want that every time I click on a link to send an email google mail opens in internet explorer browser.
I also have tried:
to "associate a file type or protocol with a specific program" option MAILTO but I only have chrome, outlook and thunderbird but not Internet explorer!
How Can I select InternetExplorer as my default in MAILTO protocol??

Can't Install Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 7
I have a Windows 7 x86 Service Pack 1.
I'm unable to install Internet Explorer 10 on my computer even though all the minimum requirements are met. Here are more details.
I have IE9 installed. But Windows Updater always shows that I have an optional update for "Installing IE9". When I try to install it, it always fails.
I tried installing "Internet Explorer 10" through Windows update. But it also failed.
So I came here and followed the advice given on this forum and I tried to uninstall Internet Explorer. But When I went to "Turn Windows features On or Off", it was totally blank. I waited for a minute or two, but nothing showed up.
I realized I'm struck with Internet Explorer 9 for now. Can somebody help me out of this mess? PlEASE.

IE 9.0 doesn't show updated PDF instead shows from cached version
IE 9.0 always shows cached version of PDF file not updated one. Can i know what is the cause of this issue in IE. Actually same issue was occur in IE 8.0 but i've changed security setting to default. As a result, IE8.0 shows updated PDF not from cache version. But same workaround doesn't sort out this issue in IE 9.0.
I'd appreciate to providing solution to this.

Internet Explorer Preview 11 won't launch
I'm using Windows 8.1 and IE won't launch. The funny part is, it worked at first, but for some reason only stopped working on my administrator account. It works fine with all other accounts on my computer. I started with a fresh install and after installing some software, I noticed it didn't work, but no amount of uninstalling I do helps. I can use any software I want on the other accounts as well.

IE 9 constantly shows message stating the IE has stopped working
As soon as I upgraded from IE 8 to IE 9 on my windows 7 pc I'm getting the IE has stopped working message almost constantly. I would change back to IE 8 because it worked perfectly.
When I try to download ie 8 from microsoft.com it I get a message saying that it is not compatible. What? it worked fine before.
Can some one help me go back to ie8 or fix ie 9 ? If you can do it in plain english ? I'm a novice user.
Does anyone know why this things have to be so difficult?

Why does IE10 use Google Chrome Frame
After the download and installation of Internet Explorer 10, I suddenly started seeing Google Chrome Frame being used to display certain pages. Previous versions of Internet Explorer never needed this add-on. Now Google Chrome is telling me they are discontinuing this add-on and to download and install the latest browser. IE10 IS the latest browser from Microsoft. I am running Windows 7 as my operating system. Why is IE10 using this add-on when previous versions that I used did not use it?

I troubleshooting this "an ActiveX control on this page might be unsafe to interact with other parts of the page." This is not an error by itself but... I troubleshooting why you cant open an .doc fil from a intranet with word. 1. You go to an Intranet page with your IE8/IE9. 2. You click on an .doc file. 3. you got this massage "an ActiveX control on this page might be unsafe to interact with other parts of the page." 4. you have Yes and No option 5. You click yes. 6. a white small IE window open. 7 the .doc file was expected to open.
