Under IE 11 and Win 8.1, Office 365 E3, I have turned off "Lock Toolbars" but am still unable to drag items to the bar successfully. Works fine on my other computers, so I know my technique is OK. Also, cannot rearrange items with drag and drop -- have to use Organize Favorites command. This is slowing me down!

we are soon to rollout IE11 (currently IE9 is in use). One question came up while testing the IE11 configuration: When you download a file (for eg pdf or docx) sometimes you can choose between "save, open, cancel", sometimes only "open, cancel", sometimes only "save, cancel".
Which group policy is responsible for the possibilities? Even in local intranet zone we sometimes don't have all three options?!

I just installed the new windows 10. At first it work good but now I get the message "class not registered" when I try to open explorer. I have tried all of the fixes and still nothing works. I get the same message
I have a user that when they try to log into Duke Progress Energy's website at https://www.progress-energy.com/app/loginregistration/login.aspx it will redirect them to a "one time authentication" page which requires them to use a one-time key to log in on a new computer. When going to this one-time website (secure8.i-doxs.net) it will get an error message that says...

Turn on TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2 in the Advanced settings and try connecting to https://secure8.i-doxs.net again. If this error persists, contact your site administrator.
Well, I'm the site administrator and I can confirm that TLS 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 are all enabled and forced by GPO. Restarting IE and rebooting did not help. Chrome and Firefox both work flawlessly.
Edit: This is IE 11 on Windows 8.1 Enterprise.It seems any real work or asking question about MS Edge not doing any thing very well except saying it' read fast get covered up. Will Yes it is fast because it doesn't do very much. I keep reading about problems I am having and the solution is always use the option to open it with IE. So what good is Edge other then adding another layer of confusion without controls.
If it doesn't get fixed real quick. It will cause many users to start dumping Windows 10 and going other places for support, like Apple, or getting off of windows systems. Right now it is a pain in the backside, and don't try tell us how good it is, because you sound like Bagdad Bob did in IRAQ.
MS Edge needs serious work to make it functional for real work...

Browse to (as an example) http://www.netcar.co.il/guide/guidef.asp?model=1054& from Firefox, Chrome, IE11 and Edge. Firefox and Chrome display proper Hebrew, where as Edge and IE11 display Hebrew letters but left-to-right letters within a word and left-to-right words within a sentence.
Playing with Encoding and with RTL/LTR document did not change this behavior.
I realize that many sites in Hebrew are displayed properly, but some aren't, which might be a server-side issue. Still, Firefox and Chrome can handle the situation but Edge and IE 11 cannot.
Is there a fix?

Dear all,
Real issue in work, one user reports her IE homepage can't be modified.
And her IE is IE 9, I did a remote and did change for the IE homepage but after reopening IE the issue still comes.
And the homepage is always links to one advertisement page. I also did a deep reset for her IE but it can't work.
Also I checked third-party add in from her IE manager add-in but I did not find any strange third-party addin.
Need help!

we run IE9 in our company. In fact, if we try to update a client's IE9 to IE11, he can't reach any website anymore. This happens often after hibernation mode but in my case directly after the update.
It loads infinitely long. If we restart the client, the problem is gone for a while.
I used WireShark to get a look into, with the following results.
10.99.246.4 is our Domain Controller.
10.199.150.146 is my client.

we’d need to look at the group policy for the "Check for Server Certificate Revocation" setting..... I am hopeful that it can be changed just for the SharePoint teamsite URL, as opposed to for ALL websites.
So is it possible to disable this setting for individual websites?
I'm not sure if it could be related but we have Sophos UTM 9 - and it's caused us IE setting issues in the past.

We are using IE 11, and cannot open word or excel files in SharePoint library by Office 2013. The OpenDocuments class add-on is enabled. And only one computer has this issue.
Windows 7
Only Office 2013 - version 15.4631.1000
Internet Explorer - IE11.0.9600.17207 update 11.0.10 (IE 32-bit)
The error messages is: "To open this document, your computer must be running a supported version of Microsoft Office application and a browser that supports opening files directly from the Office Online"

I was doing routine computer work on the evening of 8/19/15 when I started getting warnings from Verizon Wireless about my JetPack data utilization. (I am on a 5GB/month plan, and 3.55+GB were used in that one evening.)
The tech at Verizon said the usage occurred in the "Communications and Device Services," which includes Windows updates and stuff I don't use (such as Skype). My computer's update history shows only one update on 8-19-15, and that is
"Security Update for Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB3087985).
Could that update possibly have used 3.55 GB of my data allowance? What is the maximum it could have used?
When trying to select text with consecutive preceding and trailing symbols in IE and Edge using mouse, they will automatically expand selection range to include unwanted symbols.
for example, when trying to do a text selection like this:
if you do it with mouse, then IE will automatically expand your selection range to this:
this problem will no occur if you do the selection with keyboard(shift + arrow keys)
is this a bug or a feature? if a feature, how can I disable it?
I recently had to work with some JavaScript code which sent a SOAP request to an external web service, so I had to enable "Access data sources across domains" under the Miscellaneous IE security settings.
Are there any security issues with enabling this setting? Would it be safe to propagate this setting to a large number of users via Group Policy?
I'm in the midst of reconfiguring IE Enterprise mode for a customer. Here's the current state:
If I browse to a site in the Site List, Enterprise Mode is not enabled.
If I now set EITHER of these policy settings:
the user is still not forced into Enterprise Mode. However, they can turn on Enterprise Mode manually and the site list appears to apply correctly (as long as they turn it on on a page where it's supposed to be on - otherwise they get Enterprise mode enabled for whatever URL they were viewing when they turn EM on in addition to the site list).
We do not want users to be able to change the settings for Enterprise Mode. We only want the site list to apply, consistently, to all users. We cannot find any setting for "Force users to use Enterprise Mode" or similar.
We also do not believe Microsoft would create this without a way to enforce the policy to on - an organisation of 5 users isn't a problem, an organisation of 5000 can't afford the 5000 helpdesk calls to enable this manually.
I therefore believe I am missing something, but I cannot see what. Suggestions and questions welcomed!

I wasn't sure where to post this, please feel free to tell me where else it should be posted, as I was not able to find a Silverlight forum.
We have a custom in-house application that utilizes Silverlight. We just applied the latest patch 5.1.40728.0 and after applying it, our custom app no longer renders any information, it displays a blank screen, I suspect this has something to do with the truetype font rendering that was fixed for a RCE security patch, however we no longer are able to view our dashboard of our custom application. We rolled back to 5.1.40416.0 and our application works as normal. Does anyone know of any issues, i've searched and found nothing, i know this patch is very new so maybe not many have tested it out yet.
I'm trying to find the appropriate way to open a technical issue with Microsoft, will keep this thread updated as I find out more. If anyone else has this issue, i suggest rolling back to 5.1.40416.0.
