Hi

reg.exe add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v proxyenable /t reg_DWORD /d 1 /f
reg.exe add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v proxyserver /t reg_SZ /d 172.30.1.254:8080 /f
reg.exe add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v proxyoverride /t reg_sz /d "*.domain.com;*.domain.net;<local>" /f

-Delete Registery Key : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings

IE 11: Javascript files are not loaded correctly from cache?

Since installing Windows 8.1, I have been experiencing issues with script loading in IE 11: When the server responds with "304 Not Modified" in response to a script request, bad things happen. Specifically, I encounter script errors that would normally be caused by a missing script reference or having references in the wrong order (e.g. "Unable to get property 'foo' of undefined or null reference"). Doing a force-refresh (i.e. Ctrl+F5) corrects the issue until the next page load.

Based on what I see in the IE 11 developer tools, it looks like the scripts are loaded correctly. I can open them in the Debugger view and the content appears to be correct. Perhaps IE is just not loading them in the correct order in this scenario?

I noticed this problem myself and then someone else (who has also recently installed Windows 8.1) informed me that it appears he is experiencing exactly the same issue on a different site.

Not able to work on Helix application with IE 11

This is an application on Agile PLM for Process (Prodika) which has been working well so far on IE 9. We have plans to migrate to IE 11 and have been experiencing some trouble while testing on IE 11. The text boxes look distorted, the fields don't have visible boxes against them (they appear only after clicking at random places).

We have a finding - The XML file that is used to apply enterprise/document mode is not being interpreted correctly by IE11. It successfully sets Enterprise Mode, but is unable to apply document mode. The XML structure is generated by your Microsoft application, enterprise mode sitelist manager. Checked the XML it generates and it complies with the standards found from Microsoft’s site.

We can however approach this from the application side instead of the browser side. By adding the following meta tag to the master page for Helix, the browser will switch to the correct document mode.

<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=7" />

The caveat, this will also impact IE9 and IE 11 instead of just IE11. IE9 will attempt to render in document mode 7. IE9& IE11 would handle that emulation differently.

Question - If we go ahead and add this meta tag, what are the implications on IE 9 again? Can you give the full version information. Please let us know your suggestion on this.

Hi,

I am facing the issue similar to the one posted in the following thread and i see that its still active but i am not sure if this is fixed as i still see this issue happening while trying to access existing document from a reloaded frame. I see that there is a note from MS that its not being addressed currently but its so many months now and i am not sure if this has still not been addressed. Could some one please let me know if this issue is addressed if not any other generic work arounds ? as i see that most of the workarounds suggested are specific to their use cases and they dont fit in my case. Here is the link

I have a user that when they try to log into Duke Progress Energy's website at https://www.progress-energy.com/app/loginregistration/login.aspx it will redirect them to a "one time authentication" page which requires them to use a one-time key to log in on a new computer.  When going to this one-time website (secure8.i-doxs.net) it will get an error message that says...

This page can't be displayed

Turn on TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2 in the Advanced settings and try connecting to https://secure8.i-doxs.net again.  If this error persists, contact your site administrator.

Well, I'm the site administrator and I can confirm that TLS 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 are all enabled and forced by GPO.  Restarting IE and rebooting did not help.  Chrome and Firefox both work flawlessly.

Edit: This is IE 11 on Windows 8.1 Enterprise.

White-listing a particular IE extension

Still using IE8 which is MISI packaged by our company's "certify" group....

which means that certain Admin templates are predefined.  Like the Enable third-party browser extensions is off (Not Configured) by our defaults.  This means that the GCF (Google Chrome Frames) extension doesn't get activated when surfing sites that send with responses the HTTP header X-UA-Compatible (equal with chrome=1).  If I enable via gfedit.msc:

Computer Configuration->admin templates-> win components -> IE -> internet control panel -> advanced page

The GCF works fine.  The downside is that all of the 3rd party extensions are active.  Little too extreme.  Found the following link on the ITSC forum (search for "64-Windows-Get-rid-of-those-toolbars-and-add-ons-in-Internet-Explorer") that shows how to activate extensions through the Security Features thenAdd-on Management with gpedit.

And activated the following Google extensions: ChromeFrame BHOGoogle Update Plugin, and Chrome Frame.  Unfortunately GCF isn't activated.  Not even sure if X-UA-Compatible is honored.  Is there another way to "white-list" stuff like GCF?

Google search impossible to download !

Hello everyone,

It's been a few months that I am unable to install the Google search (in add-ons) for internet explorer. I find myself to use Bing... and you can say what you want, but Bing is impossible for me especially since it is not only me but all my business. (I manage the IT park of the company)

To be more precise, this is what I do: - I'm heading in the parameter of internet explorer (the gear in the top right of internet explorer) - I click on manage add-ons - I go in search providers - Then I go to find more search providers ... - A new internet explorer opens where I can choose which provider I want to add to Internet Explorer. - I click on Google, that's the problem ... When I press on Google (or Google search), nothing happens, no message, no page opens. Nothing ...

This brings me to my question have you a solution to resolve this problem, am I doing something wrong ...? Or in the worst case, have you another way to add Google search?

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.
I wish you a good day.

Best Regards.

Alexander

IE 11 & Adobe PDF

The user opens from within a HTML session through IE 11. The text all looks fine in IE 11, but when saved as PDF the text does not get formatted properly.

The same application when used with IE 8 and saved as PDF (Print to Adobe PDF) and opened as PDF file, it is formatted correctly. So, I am trying to understand whether this is an issue with IE 11 or Adobe Print to PDF and PDF Reader. Anyone has encountered such things before or having similar issues.

Thanks in advance for your response!

is there a way this IE tile button to open new window of IE instead of change to existing IE window.

I have already changed the setting to open IE tile to destop.  but what annoys me is that if i click the tile, it just goes to existing IE. i can just simply do that with ATL TAB (TAP? sorry my english is second language) which makes this tile very pointless to me.

IE Crashes on Open

We have an issue with IE crashing on opening. We initially had this with one user, however this is now spreading to more and more users. As far as we know, nothing has changed on the users PC's, no updates, no hardware/software changes. We are running IE9 (and cannot upgrade to 11 due to intranet).

We have tried various solutions such as graphics updates, enabling GPU rendering, rolling back IE, running safe mode, running IE Safe mode....

Allow downloaded custom file be opened right after download / Disable download manager

$

There are numerous ways to disable download manager in older Internet Explorer versions via registry edits and IE's settings.

However any of those seems to work with Internet Explorer 11.

The case is that our website generates a text based file that is then printed with a printer by passing the file to a simple cmd command. Before IE11 we were able to automatically open downloaded file. Now with IE11 the browser asks if the user wants to open, save or open & save the file.

We are using IE 11 with Win 7 32bit and Win 8.1 64bit.

How we could disable download manager behavior and force IE 11 to open downloaded file?

Internet Zone display on Status Bar

$

Good day.

Not a huge issue, but a bit cumbersome.  We run our IE installations with tightly controlled security zones.  When troubleshooting scripting issues for end users, the first question I ask is "which zone displays at the bottom of the IE window".

I am currently testing IE 9 (the actual released version...not the beta, but there's no forum on the released version yet) in our environment before rolling it out to everyone and I have found that while there is still a status bar at the bottom, it no longer displays which zone the currently displayed site falls under.

Is there a way to restore this functionality (I'm sure I'm missing a checkbox somewhere).  This is very useful when troubleshooting and is truly needed in our environment.

Regards,

Scott

IE 11 update KB3049563 (replaced KB3038314 from April) breaks SSRS 2008R2 parameters

$

We're using IE 11 on Windows 7 and Reporting Services 2008R2;  both KB3038314 from last month and the replacement KB3049563 for IE11 released yesterday cause SSRS parameters to run abysmally slowly if one of the parameters presents the user a long pick-list and allow multi-select.

If the number of values in the param list are decreased (say, less than 500), or if only a single value is allowed to be selected from the list, the param selection behaves normally.  But if there's a long multi-select picklist in the params (delay appears proportional to the number of choices in the list), it takes several minutes for the pick list to become active.  In the meantime, the entire parameter pane is disabled, causing most users to believe the report is frozen and they abort.

Neither Chrome nor Firefox exhibit this behavior for the same report on the same report server.  Behavior is normal when the report is run in the Visual Studio development environment.  The undesirable behavior is specific to IE 11 (no idea whether earlier versions of IE might be affected).  Removal of the patch on the client workstation restores normal behavior.

This is a serious problem in our environment, and the problem seems to be under-reported.  Is anyone at Microsoft actively investigating this issue and working on a resolution?

IE Add-On list - Group Policy

I'm trying to enable a number of IE addons while allowing my users to disable them if need be, except it isn't quite working as advertised.

If I define the addon with value 0, then the addon is disabled and the user cannot enable it. Setting it to 1, enables the addon and the user cannot disable it. Setting it to 2, however, appears to do nothing. It remains disabled, however, users can enable it. I need it enabled with the option of disabling.

Anyone experienced similar?
