IE 11 "The proxy server isn’t responding" as user and only works if "Run as Administrator"
IE 11 open new tab opens new window, clicking open new tab opens black page in same tab
Hi I have a problem with IE11 on Windows 8.1 Desktop mode which is driving me crazy.
When i click on the open new tab button it will open in the same tab in the same window and you cant go to any website and the website on where on's address is still in the address bar.
Right click a link and select open new tab most of the time opens new window with long pause.
I have tried everything to fix this even re installing windows, but the problem persists after re install as i think its attaching itself to my Microsoft account.
I have disabled all add-ons run virus and walware scans reset IE to defaults removed and re-installed IE all to no avail!
Any help would be much appreciated.

Internet Explorer 9 stops using PAC File
Hi,
several machines that have Internet Explorer 9 installed suddenly stopped connecting to the internet using a PAC file. Chrome as well as Firefox work with the PAC file set in IE, setting a static proxy adress in the Proxyserver field in IE works too for all browsers including IE9.
I tried reverting to IE 8 which seems to accept the PAC, after reinstalling IE9 it stops working again, i tried both a local file as well as a PAC hosted on a web server, to no avail. PAC file is tested on all 3 browsers and works on 99% of the Win 7 computers, so its not a problem with the syntax, im at a loss of idea here.
Path set for the PAC File://C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\Proxy.pac
Does someone have an idea how to fix this or some way to troubleshoot this problem any further?
Thanks in advance.
Paste into new email in Office 365 while using Content advisor
Hi
After transferring our store email accounts to Office 365, I am experiencing problems with the paste function, I am not able to paste any content into the body field. When trying to, a small message box appears where you have to choose to allow access or not, of course I choose allow, but this does nothing, no error messages, IE doesn’t crash, nothing happens.
So far, I believe I have narrowed it down to the content advisor, which is enabled due to company policies.
If I disable the content advisor, close all IE’s and try again, it works fine.
So my question is, what address do I need to add to regedit database in order for the paste function to work with the content advisor enabled?
I have enabled/disabled the following:
- Deleted history/cookies/pw etc.
- Done a complete reset of IE
- Tried on two different computers
- Added https://outlook.office365.com to “Trusted Sites”
- Enabled Protected Mode for “Trusted Sites”
- Set “Allow Programmatic clipboard access” to Enable for both “Trusted Sites” and “Internet”
I am using the following:
- OS: Windows 7 and Windows 7 Embedded with service pack 1, 32 bit
- IE: 11.0.9600.17691

Internet Explorer 11 html text misaligned inside form field boxes - Internet Explorer 10 Works OK with no misaligment.
I have got a major problem with text mis-alignment in forms when using Internet explorer 11. This error is only appearing in IE 11 and not in IE 10 which works OK on all table forms. I have been banging my head against the wall with this issue. Please can you help me find a solution to this problem that I'm having. I have 2 screen shots that I can share by email, but at the moment Microsoft won't let me put the images into this box.

Internet Explorer 11 installation WMI Timeout KB2729094
Hey,
I have a lot of Win7 SP1 PCs here on which I receive an WMI timeout error during Internet Explorer 11 installation.
Error is the following (always with the same hotfix):
WMI query for Hotfixes timed out. Query string: 'Select HotFixID from Win32_QuickFixEngineering WHERE HotFixID="KB2729094"' Error: 0x00040004 (262148).If I run the same query in powershell it takes long, but it ends with success.
Get-WMIObject -Query $('Select HotFixID from Win32_QuickFixEngineering WHERE HotFixID="KB2729094"') -Namespace "ROOT\CIMvWhat I already tried was to reinstall the hotfix.
I although applied hotfix KB2834140 of slow WMI and tried to repair the WMI with following batch:
sc config winmgmt start= disabled net stop winmgmt /y %SYSTEMDRIVE% >nul cd %windir%\system32\wbem For /f %%s in ('dir /b *.dll') do regsvr32 /s %%s wmiprvse /regserver winmgmt /regserver net start winmgmt for /f %%s in ('dir /b *.mof *.mfl') do mofcomp %%sBut all without success. If I reistall the device installation works without problems, but it is not possible for me to reinstall nearly all my devices newly.
Thank you for help in advance.
Resize open file dialog Internet Explorer
I'm a little bit stuck here. I'm trying to get the common dialog that appears when you open/save a file in Internet Explorer fullscreen and be persistent. If i open the dialog, resize it, close it and open it again, it won't remember it's size and it resets to default. I've tried digging around in the registry entries of the Common Dialog (Comdlg32), but haven't found any working solutions.
This problem only occurs in IE running on Windows 7. Other browsers and other versions of Windows don't seem to have this problem. Switching browser or OS is, sadly, no option in my scenario. Using third party application is also no option :(
The size settings of the common dialog windows that are opened are stored on a program by program basis in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ComDlg32\CIDSizeMRU. Howerver, when i add a key for internet explorer (copied from a system where it does work) it just seems to ignore the entry.
When running Process Monitor i can see that IE does not set the registry value, while it does on working systems.
Inconsistent application of Enterprise Mode Group Policy settings
I've been working on bringing IE11 to our company, but getting Enterprise Mode to apply successfully across the environment remains an issue. On the computers the policy is applying correctly it has rendered old websites in use almost without fail. However, there seems to be an issue in testing where some GP settings are not applying...or only partially.
I initially thought that this might be OU specific - though it shouldn't since the settings are in a policy that covers all OUs. For the sake of testing, I put a machine that wasn't working into the same OU as one that was working. Logged in with the same user and get 2 different results. I've also run gpresult and piped out the results, but everything matches up...even the registry keys pertaining to Enterprise Mode are identical, yet one will show the option for Enterprise Mode under tools and also use the XML list, while the other will not show the Enterprise Mode and won't use the XML list (even though the path is in the registry). I've removed the PC from the domain and re-added it trying to get it to 'refresh' the GP. I've also removed IE and reinstalled it. Same results.
I've been working on this for days and i'm lost for a solution at this point. I'm hoping someone here can point to something I may have missed.
Thanks!

IE9 - Recent sites in drop down list too short
You know how you click the drop down arrow in the URL address bar and it shows the recently visited sites? Under IE8, the recent sites that I hadtyped in would show up in the top of the list and there would be about 10 of them in the list. I just installed IE9 and now this list is half that and it only shows 5 sites! I find this rather frustrating and I would like to expand the size of that list back to 10. (or at least larger than 5)
I know there is a "History" section also in this drop down list and you can 'expand' that section, but this list is justNOT functional for me. It is full of lower level URL addresses and even has entries in it that are a folder location on my hard drive. I want the drop down list to "just" show the sites that I have 'typed' in.
I find I visit many of the same sites and had all their addresses typed in and it was their 'main' URL address. I could easily go to those sites by just using the drop down list. Now with IE9, that list is way too short and full of items that just are not functional.
So I have a couple of questions:
- Is there a setting in IE9 or the registry that I can change to get the "most recent sites visited that I typed in" back to showing more than just 5 sites in the initial list of the address drop down list, like the way IE8 worked?
- Can you turn off, or get rid of the "History" section in the drop down list? (This section just doesn't contain entries that I ever click on and is a waste of space!)
- Is there a way to tell the "History" section to NOT show hard drive locations? (I fail to see what useful purpose it is to me to have drive location show up in my history when I am using a program that browses the "internet" and all I'm interested in are "internet" sites. I'll use Windows Explorer to browse my hard drive.)

"http://www.meetup.com" Freezes IE 11
On IE 11, trying to access http://www.meetup.com puts my system, Windows 8.1 with the latest updates, in a non-responsive state requiring forced reboot. Not sure how to diagnose the problem since the system freezes up. Up to just recently, everything, the site and machine were response. Was able to use my Windows 8.1 Phone IE with no problems. Any ideas.

Deploying Tracking Protection List to enterprise machines IE11
Hello All,
I noted from past resources that IE9 ADMX previously came with the ability to manage tracking protection lists through GPO. It looks like this functionality has since been removed and we are now only able to enable or disable the tracking protection function entirely through GPO.
If there any way to deploy pre-populated tracking protection lists to enterprise machines? Either through GPO, SCCM build process, registry entry etc?
Thank you.

Group policy Preference -> Internet Option setting not applying
Hi,
I’m not very sure if any of you have encounter this strange issue when
configuring GPP -> Internet option setting for window 7 IE9 or IE11.
The following
are spec of OS and IE version used in my environment.
Window Server
2012 R2 (IE 10)
Window 7 (IE9
and IE11)
Recently I
have deployed proxy setting via GPP as I do not have IEM under my GPMC console.
Once the setting is been configured and deployed, I have notice that the GPO do
not apply after the user login. The following scenarios is what we observed.
1) User boot up the machine, Login and proxy setting will not applied
1a) gpupdate /force -> Proxy Settings applied
1b) setting will be removed after the GPO refreshed
2) User boot up the machine, Login and proxy setting will not apply
2a) User logoff and login proxy setting applied.
2b) Setting will be removed after the GPO refreshed
Kindy advise
if there is any solution to ensure that the setting apply whenever the user
login and stay intact even after the gpo refreshed by itself.

Enterprise Mode IE11 Site List Not Updating on Client...
In testing Enterprise Mode using IE11 I've been able to do the following...
- Create a sites.xml file using the Site List Manager tool and store it on a web site accessible by all clients
- Enabled the "Use the Enterprise Mode IE website list" group policy option and entered the appropriate URL to access the sites.xml file.
- Verified that the client applied the policy and sites listed in the sites.xml file were using Enterprise Mode
- Also verified that the client registry entry "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\EnterpriseMode" CurrentVersion value was set to 3.
- Opened the sites.xml file and removed an entry, incremented the <rules version="4"> and saved it.
Only 1 problem: The client will not stop running the site I removed from the sites.xml file in Enterprise Mode.
I've waited forever and it will not pick up the new file and I did increment the version number in the xml file.
So I proceeded to delete all browser history but doing the following didn't get rid of the sites.xml file...
Browser History --> Delete --> (tick all the boxes) then Delete. Restarted the browser after it was done. This didn't help so I went to...
Browser History --> Settings --> View Files
Found that the sites.xml file was still in the INetCache in the following path; C:\Users\jjasta\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache)
If I manually delete the sites.xml file from here the client then will download the new file but if I leave it alone the client will not automatically update to the latest version.
I also noticed that the file says "None" within the Expires column...not sure if that's an issue as I would think it needs to expire before it checks for another file. Maybe I'm mistaken on this as I don't fully understand caching with IE11 but either way I waited several hours and this client I'm testing never picked up the new sites.xml (again, the version number was incremented up and I know how to check which version is on the client within the registry as previously noted).
Any ideas? I'd love to get this tested so I can begin using Enterprise Mode but I can't figure out how to get clients to refresh the file when I make a change to the sites.xml file. I'd hate to deploy this and for whatever reason not be able to get the clients to refresh the sites in this file.
