Javascript code bugs IE and werfault
javascript:window.open("about:blank", "myWindow", "status=1");
The error is this: if you give window.open() the attribute "status=1", werfault says the fully responsive IE process has crashed. If you terminate
werfault (from task manager), all that stops working is the tab.
I have got Norton installed and so am in Advanced Protected Mode to keep IE working, which might create this odd behaviour.

Applet not rendered in IE8 loaded via iframe dynamically
Hi,
I have an applet that is loaded inside an iframe. The iframe is added to the document via javascript dynamically. When i add the iframe to the html page, the applet is not getting rendered in IE8. Working as expected in all other browsers.
Interestingly, If i do any other action on the page like clicking on a check box after calling the javascript method that adds the iframe, the applet is being rendered .
And if i add the iframe to the html statically, even in this case it works. Please help out with this.

enable ActiveX for one particular site through GPO
Hi,
I need to provide seamless experience for accessing
WebSite that requires ActiveX.
Did some search.... and created GPO. But it
not works.
1. Allowed ActiveX for the required site on test
computer.
2. In Add-Ons of Browser found the name of needed
Add-on.
3. In C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files found files with the
Add-on name:
dll and inf. In inf file
found:
[CryptoHelperATL.dll]
file-win32-x86=thiscab
clsid={8BD32365-35F1-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXX}
FileVersion=5,0,0,0
RegisterServer=yes
; end of INF file
4.
created GPO:
USER: Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet
Explorer/Security Features\Add-On Manager
In Add-on List Setting entered
clsid for the Value Name (8BD32365-35F1-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXX} and 1 for the
Value.
5. Policy was applied to newly logged in User, but when accessed
the site the prompt for Allowing ActiveX popped up.
What I am missing?
Thanks.

Fullscreen div element in asp.net site
I have a html document with media gallery:
<divclass="videoTabClass"id="videoTab"><divid="videoGalleryTEST"><videocontrols="controls"preload="metadata"class="media-content"style="height:150px;"title=""src="test.mp4"></video><buttononclick="makeFullScreen">
Fullscreen</button></div></div>
There is a function for button:
function makeFullScreen(evt){var testFullScreen = document.getElementById("videoGallery");var divObj = document.getElementById("videoGallery");if(divObj.requestFullscreen)if(document.fullScreenElement){
document.exitFullscreen();}else{
divObj.requestFullscreen();}elseif(divObj.msRequestFullscreen)**//true in simple *.html but undefined in asp.net**if(document.msFullscreenElement){
document.msExitFullscreen();}else{
divObj.msRequestFullscreen();}elseif(divObj.webkitRequestFullscreen)if(document.webkitFullscreenElement){
document.webkitCancelFullScreen();}else{
divObj.webkitRequestFullscreen();}}
When I debug this code in simple .html file everything is ok. My video gallery goes on fullscreen in all browsers. The problem appers when I debug this function in ASP.NET site. In Chrome and Mozilla browser it still OK, but in IE-11 there is no msRequestFullscreen() function for specified div element, it's just undefined. How asp.net affects on html elements?

Rollback IE 11 to IE 10 on Windows 8.1
I have seen old posts in regards to the referenced topic. I was not sure this is still the case. All new PCs has Windows 8.1 and I could not find a way to downgrade IE 11 to IE 10 due to some of my work websites not being compatible on the latest version of 11. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Activate Enterprise Mode for all pages of a webapplication
We have a server hosting several webapplications. Some of the webapplications need Enterprise mode to run correctly. So I created a sitelist and configured the webserver to run in "Default mode" and the webapplication paths to run in Enterprise mode. The problem is that the webapplications contain several aspx files which are running in Default mode using the sitelist described.
Is there a possibility to run the whole webapplication in Enterprise mode or do I really have to add every single aspx file to the sitelist.xml?

IE renders CSS VERY slowly
Hello, I am making an HTML5 game, and there is a lot of CSS transitions going in at the same time. While Chrome renders these transitions instantly, IE's framerate is super slow (in Chrome I get 80fps while in IE it is 13fps). I'm not sure if it's a problem with my IE or this is the same for everyone. I'm on IE 11.
The framerate for Chrome and IE is the same for up to 6 transitions at the same time, after 6 IE starts slowing down by around 10fps for extra transition.

IE 10 Cache Size
Hello,
i am trying to change the IE 10 cache using GPO by change CacheLimit registry-setting.
Even when exporting the registry file, and importing this file on another machine will not work with "Cachelimit"
This is my registry-key :
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\5.0\Cache\Content]
"CachePrefix"=""
"CacheLimit"=dword:0000a000
= 40 MB Cache
When importing this in windows 8 and IE 10, the registry looks like this :
= 40 MB
But when checking IE 10 :
(changed manully before registry-key from 250 to 60)
What is going wrong?
Thx
some applications don't work when IE11 uses automatic proxy script
Hello!
We are using automatic proxy scripts and since change from WinXP IE8 and/or Win7 IE10 to Win7 IE11 we are facing problems with some applications. It seems this applications (smart card readers) use the system-proxy settings (IE11) for connecting, but also some programs (bloomberg, ReutersEIKON) are affected.
If I change the network settings to use hard proxy it works perfectly. Has there been some changes in this way (similar to the disabling of the local file pac support)? Proxy-Settings get via GPO into registry.
Thanks in advance
Not able to debug the client script in IE11
Hello Experts,
I had to debug the client side script though my application but when i try to do the same i am getting error saying "Unable to attach to crashing process. The process has been terminated. Try refreshing the process list before attempting another attach".
Before this when comes to select the debugger , top of the dialog box shows error "An unhandled exception (Script BreakPoint) occured in iexplorer.exe ".
# I have check the registry entry under HKLM/software for the JIT debugger - it's set to 1.
# I have uncheck the internet option checkbox for disabling the debugging the script.
Still no help. Please guide me through this.

IE 11 Why is MS snooping?
A while back, I noticed that IE 11 has been doing some strange things. I've spent months watching, logging, sniffing.. and I'm quite confused.
I happen to be fortunate, and own a router that reports activity. I use an old program called WallWatcher, which monitors all of the router activity, including access, blocked incoming connections, allowed outgoing connections, etc. One day I happened to go out for a while and I left my system running.
Note, I am very anal about my computer. I do no automatic updates on anything, and strictly control all startup items and services. I do not subscribe to the customer experience program, and all entries in task scheduler for that part, have been disabled.
When I got back in, I noticed that an outgoing connection to 93.184.215.200 on port 443 had happened 10 minutes prior. I contacted the ISP for that service, and they confirmed that it is a part of the Microsoft system.
I have no add-ons enabled in IE, other than a single default Bing search engine. Search suggestions and top results are disabled.
IE is quite sneaky though. I can start the browser, my default page is blank. It will generally wait until this is some form of internet traffic, but not always. Today for example, I opened IE, did nothing, and within 30 seconds it tried to hit that IP noted above. I also use another program called Peer Block, and that IP is blocked. IE was so pissed that it couldn't connect to that IP, that it tried 5 times to connect. Normally it only tries once and then stops.
I've also had issues with multiple tries at boot time, for my system to go out to various crl.microsoft.com addresses. And to me, that's spying. I have those addresses blocked now as well. I can understand that MS wants to fight the piracy issue. But my license is legit and valid. There is no practical or logical reason for MS to hit the CRL servers every time I boot my system. That tells me they are trying to track me, and that doesn't make me a happy camper.
So, tell me, Microsoft... what is SO damn important that you need to hit your 93 address on port 443? Why do you go there, at mysterious times even when IE is not running? Why do you go there when IE loads? And more importantly, just exactly WHAT information is being sent on a secure port?
Just to note, I have done multiple virus and malware scans, using various programs and the latest definitions. This has been ongoing for months, so if it was some form of virus style activity, someone would have caught it and fixed it.
Just sayin...
Basic vs Negotiate Authentication.
Good Day.
I am observing different behaviour on several client PCs; it looks like different versions of Ie.
if a website is protected as follows - what are the decision matrices used by IE to select either Basic or Negotiate, assuming it can do both ?
I have some PCs on a domain, W8+ie10 - uses basic, W7+IE9 uses negotiate. In all cases they are in Internet Sites with Integrated Authentication, they do NOT have kerberos tickets for the domain being logged onto and we are using "Automatic Logon with Current User and Password". It appears there is a setting or change in versions that forces IE to incorrectly select Negotiate when it should use basic.
The question is, what has changed ? I tried ETS tracing on WinInet but all it told me was it had selected Negotiate or Basic, but not WHY. Second Question : is there tracing logic to see why it is picking one or the other ?

IE 11 ignoring pop-up allow exceptions from group policy
I see a ton of postings on the web about IE9 ignoring group policy pop-up blocker exceptions, but I'm having the same issue with IE11.
The policy settings I have attempted to use is called "Pop-up allow list", which is enabled and lists my site in the form of "http:// mysite.com" (excluding the space after //, which I've added only so this message would post).
Afterward, I can see on a Windows 7 test computer that a registry entry has been made in "HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\New Windows\Allow" for the site I wish to exclude. I take this as proof my group policy setting has been applied. But, it has no effect. The site still doesn't work, and the URL is still not listed in the pop-up exceptions list in IE.
I also tried using the same Group Policy setting under the computer policies, which likewise resulted in a new registry entry in "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\New Windows\Allow". This also fails to work, and does not result in the site in questions appearing in the exception list.
In looking through the registry, I see that any manually added pop-up exceptions are stored in "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\New Windows\Allow". If I manually add my site here, or via the IE gui, then the site works as expected.
What am I missing here? Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?
