Dear community,
we are running internet explorer 11 on our workstations (windows 7 and 8.1). When we try to access the website http://support.microsoft.com we cannot access the site as it get stuck on the page http://login.live.com. This makes it impossible for me to access
any resources such as KB articles etc. The message that we get on the login.live.com page is: "Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later."
However if I try to access this page using a different browser such as firefox I do not experience this problem. Furthermore if I first login to login.live.com or outlook.com etc and then try to access to page support.microsoft.com I am able to access it
without a problem.
Can you please help me determine the cause of this problem as we are experiencing this problem on all our server, terminal server and workstations in our network which makes me believe that there is either a problem with the site or we may be perhaps infected with a virus etc (although all scans came back clean).
Any assistance will be highly appreciated.
(Note I Have tried deleted all cookies, browsing history, cached credentials etc without success)
Regards,
Screech

Hi,
I'm trying to work out why enterprise mode in IE11 isn't working on all clients we have in our environment.
Our specs:
Windows 7 Enterprise SP1
IE11 versions 11.0.9600.17501 update versions: 11.0.15 (KB3008923)
Sites created using Enterprise Mode Site List Manager and the path where the file resides is accessible by all users
On some clients, not all, I managed to get enterprise mode to work. Verified this when the enterprise mode icon appears. Group policy has only "Use the Enterprise Mode IE website list" enabled.
Please help me troubleshoot this.
Hello,
I've checked the settings of medium-high Template on IE8 and IE 11 and noticed some différences :
Ea: Loose XAML is enabled on IE8 and disabled on IE 11
Ea: XAML browsers applications is enabled on IE8 and disabled on IE 11
Are theses changes documented somewhere ? What is the reason of these changes ?

Michel
Hello,
We are using Internet explorer 8 on a windows server 2008 R2 environment (Terminal server/Citrix).
When opening Tools / Compatibility view settings window we have following problems:
· Add button is grayed out
· Once the window is open we can’t close it. Close button is available but nothing happens when using it.
· Website added to compatibility list with GPO not visible in list. This while a GPresult shows that the GPO is applied.
Anybody knows the problem or the solution?
Thx,
Patrick
Hello,
I have Windows 7, 32 bit on a Dell laptop with 4Gb of RAM. I've been primarily an IE user all along but I am now using Chrome and Firefox due to problems with IE 10 and 11. Around the first of the year IE stopped letting me download anything and sometimes crashes after the download bar says "filename could not be downloaded". I have googled my fingers off and tried every remedy suggested, up to and including booting in safe mode with networking and running IE with no add-ons. My only assumption is that one of the MS updates is the underlying cause as I haven't made any hardware or software changes. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Below is the text of one of the crashes from the technical details of the reliability monitor of the action center:

my question is about internet explorer 11, I had a problem with the Pogo Website, so I emptied my cache. After that my internet
explorer starts running a loop cycle when I go back to this website. What would be my options to stop this? It does not do this
looping cycle on any other website. Please help.

Occurs in IE 11 and downgraded to IE10 with the same issue. Reset IE to default settings and tried in Compatibility view still same issue.

hello
i've set "Enterprise mode" with a share central file xml implemented in a GPO.
I've build the xml file with the last updated "EMIESiteListManager".
60 web applications are set in the XML file and they are running as intended with the right compatibility settings.
But I have one strange behavior for one application.
for example:
I have set www.trpf.com as IE5 document mode andwww.trpf.com\srt as IE8 document mode.
the results are:
www.trpf.com\srt is rendered as IE8 but www.trpf.com is also rendered as IE8 where it would be IE5 ?
other web apps like www.trpf.com\xdf are also rendered as IE8 ?
I have missed something ?
Thank you for your help
IE10 has been a part of Windows 8 in both preview and released form for a long time, and Microsoft still hasn't fixed the botched font rendering.
There's a reason the people who invented ClearType put in the color-assist. It effectively triples your monitor's horizontal resolution by lighting up individual columns of red, green, blue. It's just NOT THERE in IE10 on Windows 8.
Been wondering why you're feeling more eye strain? Now you know. Look at it closely with the Magnifier application if you don't believe me. Compare text rendered inside IE with that in menus or other apps.
There is a ClearType Text Tuner dialog provided by Windows that could be used to dial it down or even turn it off, for those who didn't like the color, for versions prior to IE10. Now Microsoft has forced the NO COLOR decision on every Windows 8 user, regardless of the ClearType tuner setting. Color assist is OFF and you can't turn it on.
Why?
Maybe it's being done to support the Surface or other tablets (e.g., so rotations can be done graphically without forcing a repaint or something). Fine. Microsoft also sells Windows 8 with IE10 to run on the billion or so actual computers with 100ish ppi monitors already out there in the world (that don't rotate), right? So make it configurable. It already worked (andstill works with the IE10 RP on Windows 7) - it's not like something new has to be invented. It's not even consistent in different parts of IE10, as you can see above!
What's the point in delivering a font rendering scheme that is blurred and inconsistent by comparison to the prior version or other browsers (or even IE10 on Windows 7)? Since when is "almost as good" good enough? It's not like it never worked before. IE has been about faithfully maintaining compatibility with past browsers, but apparently not in this.
IE10 RP on Windows 7 has the color-assist, and it follows the ClearType tuner setting. Will Microsoft attempt to degrade Windows 7 through Windows Update by releasing the final version of IE10 without it? Let's hope not.

Detailed how-to in my eBooks: | Configure The Windows 7 "To Work" Options |
Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help. As the title states users are getting an http 400 bad request error message when visiting an intranet page. This is only happening for a few users, and started happening after they were migrated. We are using SID history for access to resources. Here's what i've tried so far.
WebServer is Windows 2000. w/ IIS 5
Workstations are Windows 7 x86
Hopefully someone has some ideas, any and all are welcome. Thanks in advance.
Hi,
Font of Hyperlink is showing bold compared with IE 9 or IE 8 versions.
Is there any fix or issue raised for this already.
It would be grateful, if any workaround is there to avoid it
Thanks,
Koundinya
Hello,
i am trying to change the IE 10 cache using GPO by change CacheLimit registry-setting.
Even when exporting the registry file, and importing this file on another machine will not work with "Cachelimit"
This is my registry-key :
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\5.0\Cache\Content]
"CachePrefix"=""
"CacheLimit"=dword:0000a000
= 40 MB Cache
When importing this in windows 8 and IE 10, the registry looks like this :
= 40 MB
But when checking IE 10 :
(changed manully before registry-key from 250 to 60)
What is going wrong?
Thx

Hello,
I'm running Internet Explorer 11, and I'm trying to disable Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration on a machine running Windows Server 2008 R2. I have full administrative privileges to the machine, and I can see that the option is disabled for both users and administrators in Server Manager. I have tried in both 32 and 64 bit versions on Internet Explorer with the same results.
Is there something else I can do to force IE ESC to remain disabled?
