IE 11 Crashs with Java 8 and Reflections

$

I have had a number of Dell PC's that are crashing when using Java and Reflections for the web 2014  I have tried a number of things. Removed old Java installs, reset IE, removed Java and re-installed. So far the only thing that helps is re-staging the PC with the same updates and the same version of Java. The Java version we are using is 8.25. I am currently testing the following; remove all Java versions. Install Java version 7.17 ( this is the version Reflections installs when you do not have Java installed). Anyone have any help?

Thanks.

Internet Explorer 11 & Firewall

I installed Internet Explorer 11, and now when I click on any link that is supposed to appear in a new tab, I get a Blank Page. This happens on any web page that opens a link in a new page, including the Microsoft.com website. Any icon of Internet Explorer 11 still opens a Blank page; and that very tab becomes dead. Then I have to leave Internet Explorer and launch others like Google, Mozilla or Safari to complete the work. Even Outlook or One Drive failed to work. Is it due to restoring Firewall to default?

Set Internet Explorer as Default Browser in Group Policy - Internet Explorer Maintenace no longer available

Our client systems using Internet Explorer 10 and 11 need to have their Internet Explorer browser set to the Default Browser by Group Policy. There is the eHow article, www ehow.com/how_6356764_make-ie-default-browser-gpo.html [please note that I had to take out the . on the www to keep the link from being blocked in this post ] , but this only applies up to Internet Explorer 9.  Internet Explorer 10 and 11 deprecated the IEM utility ( and still asking why, why, why ). So, the eHow article is no longer the solution.

Anybody know of a another way?  Even if it is a registry modification - push via Group Policy solution ( like the Enable All Cookies capability is now )....... ?

IE 11 and 8 compatibility - 3rd party application

$

we're using a 3rd party web based time recording system loaded onto our server. in theory we log in over the web and enter time etc. directly into the data base. Through our own laptops using IE 11 and a data card its fine; using our Client's desktop or laptop on their system, running IE 8, it hangs and doesn't load properly. The developers sell it as available over any platform, PC, mobile, tablet etc.

Does anyone have knowledge of backwards compatibility issues comparing IE 11 and 8, which may be the heart of the problem (and any solutions - Client is too big to push to change IE version unless there its a corporate roll out).

Thanks

Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration Problems

Alright so let me start by saying that I've looked high and low and tried all other fixes I've been able to find on TechNet and elsewhere and this problem still occurs. We have two Terminal Servers, one having the problem and one not having the problem. I cannot find any differences on them so I am here hoping someone else may have some answers. The core problem is that we have some Group Policy IE settings that will not apply to a user until they reset IE. After that they never have another problem with it. So, the server is Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard SP1 and we are using IE8 because of the some special medical software that requires it.  IE ESC is turned off for both Standard and Administrative users on the server.  I have tried turning it back on and then off and logging in with a brand new user; I tried turning it on, rebooting then turning it off, rebooting again and then logging in with another brand new user.  I know that turning ESC on or off changes a registry key also, and I did verify that it is off per that registry key.

When a new user logs in and tries to access any webpage from Google to a site that is in the Trusted Sites list, they get the popup that says, "Content from the website listed below is being blocked by the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration" and then they're given the choice to check the box not to continue notifying them.  While that does not continue notifying them, nothing we have set in Group Policy for IE - Trusted Sites, Trusted Sites Settings, Popup Blocker Settings - is set accordingly until IE is reset.  I have tried using IE 32-bit, IE 64-bit and IE No Addons.

Again, we have two Terminal Servers that are set up seemingly identical but we're having this problem in one.  Any help would be most appreciated.

Setting Proxy Settings via Registry -> Defaultconnectionsettings not updated

$

Hi,

im facing the following issue since IE10.

IE10 is installed on a Remotedesktop Session Host. I control the student's internet access by setting a proxy setting in their registry hive.

Internet ON: via script i add ProxyEnable:1 / ProxyServer: proxyserver:8080

Internet OFF: via script i add ProxyEnable:1 / ProxyServer: noproxy:1234

This method worked perfect with IE9. After the update to IE10 i discovered that IE would not update the values in Defaultconnectionsettings at all time. For example, Intenet is off, and i turn it on. The script sets the 2 reg entires (Proxyenable/ProxyServer) correctly. When the Students start IE, for some IE will overwirte the ProxyServer and ProxEnable with values which are still saved in defaultconnectionsettings. In many cases, that is still the noproxy:8080.

It all works fine if when manually setting the proxy via the Internet control panel. Then defaultconnectionsettings is updated immediately.

How can i automaticially update the defaultconnectionsettings, to the value in Proxyserver?

Thanks!

Does anyone know of a way to for all web links no matter where a user clicks on them to open in IE. We need to have chrome in our desktop image (for reasons beyond this discussion) but if a user is using Gmail in chrome and clicks on a web link in Gmail I need it to open IE and not try to open the link in chrome.

Any Ideas?? Thanks in advance

I manually associate .asp file type to use Internet Explorer as 'Current Default' but some how it keeps switching back to 'Unknown Application'. Is there a way to force it default 'Internet Explorer'? this needs to be done either by registry hack or GPO. I am not a developer, thanks.

There is a webpage with cpvredirect in it's address that keeps activating my web browser, over and over, on it's own. How do I make it stop? I think it comes from the microsoft website. If I want to open a web page, I will do it. this program doesn't know when to stop.

IE11 reports incorrect browser version number to local webserver.

Situation is that client computers need to access a php-driven site hosted on a local domain. This php site has a hardcoded minimum browser version of 8 for Internet Explorer.  This is done for a good reason as login and data manipulation from very outdated browsers could result in data corruption.

Problem arises with IE11, which sometimes reports itself with an INCORRECT version number when accessing internal domains. Usually, 7. This seems to be by design, and may (I guess) have been done to allow for ancient and creaking corporate sites that won't work in recent browser versions. However, it also very effectively prevents any modern software requiring an up-to-date browser from being used on intranet sites!!!

Any suggestions on this? I'm wondering if it ought to be filed as a bug report. It might be regarded as a feature rather than an bug, but it's a feature whose consequences are, for all intents and purposes, a bug.
