Hello,

I have something weird happening that I'm hoping someone else will know the solution to.  I've been running Windows 8 Enterprise on my home computer for about 9 months with Internet Explorer 10. At first, Internet Explorer worked flawlessly and I was very happy to see a smooth running browser on the first release.  I'm not sure exactly when it started, but a couple of times a week, Internet Explorer just stops allowing input ON ONLY SOME WEB PAGES (i.e. logmein.com, technet.com, and others). Basically, the page comes up, but I can't click on any link or type any data into any of the fields.  I can use the tab key to move to an input field like username, but typing does nothing.  I've tried going into F12 and playing with the compatibility modes, but none of them fix the problem.  Other pages continue working fine and I can click on links and input to my hearts delight.  Usually a reboot fixes this problem, but that is just irritating so I loaded Chrome onto the system.  Any ideas on a fix or why this is happening?

Hi,

I am able to open our intranet web application on IE 10 but its not viewing proper as well as their internal tabs are not working as they working in Windows 7. So can any one help how to troubleshoot this problem.

A few days ago the shortcuts in each of three profiles (operating system is XP) disappeared and I can't find IE 8 on my computer.  When I go to ADD/Remove programs and remove a program it will take me to IE8 because it is my default, but I can't find IE8 in Start/Programs or Add/Remove Programs, and as I said all of the shortcuts we had are gone.  The ones we had on each of our desk tops and the ones that were in the quick start tray.

Has something happened to IE8 so that Microsoft has removed it.  I have re downloaded it several times from the internet, and it goes through all of the motions, i.e. downloading installing checking for updates etc. but I can't ever find the program even when I do a search all I can find is IE8 help and support

when trying to save pictures into different folders, IE10 always goes back to the default picture folder. other browsers do not have this issue. I was using msn and it remembered my last folder fine, but im tired of paying 9.95 for a browser when so many are free. anyways, I am using IE10 now. is there a setting to remember last folder? I do not wish to change my default folder as that would cause the same issue, just in a different folder. if I am trying to save multiple pictures from different sites into different folders I don't want to have to always search for the folder before I save. just want to "remember last folder"

Hi all,

I have IE10 x64 and Win 7 x64 + SP1, but my IE cannot open any page. I mean, when I type any URL in IE, loads and then display an blank page to me. The title is blank, the page is blank. All the other application that use a embedded explorer control also displays nothing. 

• Click settings icon: The "About Internet Explorer" is gray. Many other menus are gray (such as "Print" and "Save as").
• Right click on the blank page,  no context menu displayed.
• Tried to run IE without extension, the issue.
• disabled GPU rendering won't fix the issue.
• uninstall then re-install won't fix the issue.
• run "sfc /scannow", say nothing goes wrong.
• Google chrome works properly.

UPDATE:

Press alt to call out menu bars, most of the menu items doesn't work, except those in the View menu. (View source doesn't work, either.) 

ENVIRONMENT:

IE version: 10.0.9200

Windows 7 (6.1 build 7601 Service Pack 1)

Display Card: nVidia GTS 450

UPDATE: Uninstalled IE 10, IE 9 still displaying blank pages. It might be something wrong with the system. Ho can tell me how to fix?

UPDATE2: Do iediagcmd.exe then regsvr32 on some dlls, then re-install IE 10, now menus are recovered, local files can be properly displayed on IE if launched with. But if I start IE then tried to load pages, not working; loading a remote HTML page is still broken.

My computer is a Windows 7. Early in the morning, there was a slight malfunction with the internet service in the office. After the internet was reestablished, I reconfigured the internet configurations in all the computers and gadgets in the office, all save the one Microsoft computer in the whole office. The machine recognizes that there are plenty of other wifi network nearby and can easily get access to it. All but the one wifi that matters. It says that the current configuration does not coincide with the previous one. I think that means that it lost the password of the wifi network we want it to connect. I have the password at hand and I am more than eager to input the password, if the computer would only allow me. What can I do?

I am running Windows 7 with IE9 and when I open a browser or a new tab within an already open browser I get the Diagnose Connection Page. I refresh the page and it comes up but it gets very annoying to have the Diagnose Connection Page come up. I ran a constant ping when this error occured as well as I have checked my event log for any Internet Explorer errors. I have several computers on my network and none of them are experiencing this issue. I have firefox and chrome installed as well and they do not have these issues but I use IE for some work sites. I have rebooted the machine as well as the router and have also ensured that all of the patches are up to date on the computer. This problem just started happening within the past 2 weeks or so. Is there a known issue/fix or something that could be the cause for all of this?

Ok, I’am domain admin and recently, I have created (under Windows Server 2012):

1. User IE 10 GPP (User Configuration > Preferences > Control Panel Settings > Internet Settings (Internet Explorer 10))

2. General IE GPO.

There is small number of Windows 7 SP1 x64 workstations with IE 10 installed, and there I have one big problem: IE 10 opentarget="_blank" links innew window instead of new tab!

In User GPP for IE 10, I have this settings:

No GPO is defined for tab behavior.

That GPP is successfully applied to the (Windows 7 SP1 x64 (with latest windows updates applied)) workstations with IE 10.

But, then the problem starts:

if user IS member local or domain admin group, IE 10 open links with target="_blank" in new tab.

If user IS NOT member of local or domain admin group, every target="_blank" is open in new window. Even CTRL + mouse click open normal links in new window, instead of new tab. Same as if I right click link and select "open in new tab" - new windows again!

I did reset IE settings (Internet Options > Advanced > Reset) couple of times on many workstations, it didnt help.

I'm having trouble identifying the cause behind an inability to drag and drop emails between folders in OWA (Exchange 2010).

The problem PC is running fully up to date 32 bit Windows XP SP3 with IE8. When I try to drag and drop an email all I see is a black stop symbol. On another PC with the same spec, logged in with the same user account, I can drag and drop emails fine between folders in OWA.

I've tried clearing browser cache/history etc, resetting the browser to factory defaults, re-installing the browser, reducing security in the browser to absolute minimum, re-installing Java, Silverlight, S/MIME (although I'm sure it doesn't use these).

Can anyone suggest anything else, or provide helpful links? I've been looking at this for many hours without any progress. If I even just knew what component/tool/feature IE is using when it does/doesn't drag and drop I'd have somewhere to start...

Reaching out to the community here.  Is there anyone else out there that had their spell checking stop working on the desktop version of IE 10 in Windows 8?  It works in the metro interface (who really cares right?) but not in desktop.  It also works logged in as a different user.  I went under my profile settings and ensured that both autocorrection and spell checking were switched to the on position but still no go.

Is this a known issue by chance?  Driving me just a little nuts.  Thanks!

I want to have my IE10 at work with my work links but at home I want my home favorites.

If I sign in to Bing it gives me points and it is easer to search.

Is there a fix to the IE10 issue on Windows 7 (sharepoint 2010, your client does not support opening this list with windows explorer)?

On a computer that's running Windows 7 (x64 in my case) with Internet Explorer 10, when you click "Open with Explorer" in Microsoft SharePoint 2010, you receive the following error message:  "Your client does not support opening this list with Windows Explorer."

The website in question has been added to the IE10 Trusted Sites list. 

The server is configured properly in that this functionality works in IE9 and below on Windows 7 and for IE10 on Windows 8.  (I've not yet applied the June 2013 cumulative update for SharePoint, however.  But I'd really like to see an IE10 patch in that we need to access document libraries in other SharePoint 2010 servers that we do not manage.)

According to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2835527/en-us this is also a known problem for SharePoint Online and per that KB article, "Microsoft is working to resolve the issue."  However, that KB article was published a number of months ago.

Has this issue been resolved?  If not, is there a hotfix that can be applied to IE10 pending a service pack release?  And, what is the timeline for the fix?
