while scrolling IE 11 doesn't update (on time) the position of an element inside the viewport

Hi,

It's essential to check the following jsFiddle demo http://jsfiddle.net/rbtbar/1dudpeox/ to see the issue.

If you scroll the viewport, the position of the fixed element is not immediately updated, which makes a bad impression to the users. It happens only in IE. Neither Chrome nor FF got this problem.

Robert

Internet Explorer Hardening

Hi Team,

Our current requirement directs me to setup an IE with lockdown mode. I have to publish a link in Citrix for few users , however, with complete restrictions. I can either publish it with -K switch or run a vb script.

I decide to go for a VB script as i can custoime the size of the IE. However, on the published link (http://xyz.com) we have a hyperlink which users can use to open a new browser with all functionalites.

Either I can request the web desginer to remove that hyperlink from the website itself, Or , is there a way by which I can redirect all hyperlinks to open same Link with lockdown mode ?

Below is my script

Set oIE1 = WScript.CreateObject ("InternetExplorer.Application")

oIE1.Navigate = url of the site

oIE1.Visible = 1
oIE1.AddressBar = 0
oIE1.StatusBar = 0
oIE1.ToolBar = 0
oIE1.MenuBar = 0

Internet Explorer 11

Notebook HP ENVY 15 (received this Notebook from HP on August 12th, 2014)

=================================================

"Internet Explorer has stopped working".

This problem started about 2 weeks ago. I had contacted HP technicians many times and they had used "Recovery PC" twice, reset in Advanced Internet Options, Restore Advanced Settings, disk clean, remove files: %temp%, temp, prefetch, checked msconfig, checked programs and features.

And that message pops-up from time to time when I open Internet Explorer (msn.com)

I installed:

Teamviewer, Revo Unistaller Pro, Windows Defender, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome. Skype.

I uninstalled:

McAfee

Please advise.

Thank you.

Eclipse 3.7, 3.8, 4.2 crashes with IE11 and kb2977629 installed

Since the IE11 security update kb2977629 got installed, eclipse 3.7, 3.8 and 4.2 are now crashing with the java hs_err_pidxxx.log pointing to some updated IE dlls. When uninstalling kb2977629 the issues goes away.

This happens for me on multiple windows 7 Pro 64 bit build machines. We test the compatibility of our plugins with

multiple eclipse versions, the issue only happens with 3.7, 3.8 and 4.2.2 (and not with the more current releases 4.3 or 4.4).

Eclipse uses the IE plugin to render some HTML pages, for example on the welcome screen which is shown initially. The crash does not happen every time, but actually quite often.Call stack from a hs_err_pidxxx.log

InPrivate Browsing

Is there a way to disable or turn off InPrivate Browsing?  I have a teen ager at home and don't want her using it.  I see a lot of stuff online about downloading new registry keys and what not, but I really don't want to go that route. Is there an easier way to do this?

Remote device will not accept the connection

Oh Windows 8...

I've been having computer issues for a while now, but I always figured it was the application I was using to access the internet. I first noticed an issue when trying to log into World of Warcraft. There was an obvious connection issue, but I could still connect to my account. I contacted Blizzard about it, and nothing they told me to do helped me. This has been going on for nearly a month. Today, after not playing for a couple days, I realized I couldn't access the game at all. I blamed Blizzard again, and became frustrated with them because none of their solutions ever helped me.

Today, instead of playing WoW, I tried to play Sims 4, which requires you to launch Origin, an application that uses the internet. Origin wouldn't let me connect either. A similar error to the one I experienced with World of Warcraft and its starter program (BattleNet) appeared. Again, I blamed the provider of the application.

Still bored, I tried launching Steam, yet another gaming application that requires internet use. No, yet again I received a similar error to the other two. By now I figured it was an issue with the computer itself. I launched a connection test and it told me that the "Remote device or resource will not accept the connection".

I tried launching Internet Explorer. I got the message that the "proxy server is not responding". I'm beyond frustrated. Thank god I also have Firefox installed, so here I am.

I looked up possible solutions to my issue. All the possible solutions I've found are only about Internet Explorer, and none of those solutions have helped anyone else with my issue.

So I guess it's on your end here. I have no use for this computer at all at this point. Help me out, please. I just recently bought this computer and I don't want to have to purchase another one to get away from Windows/Microsoft.

Dear Experts,

Is there anyway to config IE11 to display all websites in Enterprise mode?

Like "display all websites in compatibility view" in IE10

Thanks and Regards,

I have two client machines on Windows 8 Pro, on IE 10. IE 10 is not in compatibility mode. Developer tools show it as presenting the correct uas (IE 10). Since a couple days ago, the MSN page now displays incorrectly with the message shown in the subject above (You are using an outdated browser.  Please upgrade to the latest version for the best MSN experience.).

Website displays fine in Firefox and Chrome.

How do you switch off the small address box whilst running IE10 in Kiosk mode?

I currently have Internet Explorer 10 running in Kiosk mode from startup and have set the homepage to an Html folder on the desktop, essentially the computer now boots up and runs a working version of my website from the desktop and remains off the internet.

The last item that I would like to get rid of is the small box that appears at the bottom left hand side of the screen that shows the address when mousing over button links. I have gone through the options in tools and also some settings in GP edit and Regedit but none of the descriptions really seem to match - I've tried switching a few off but to no effect since I have no idea what it is really called.

I am having a issue running a internal application that uses a Silverlight 5 grid on IE11.The Silverlight app flickers when the mouse is pointed on the grid. This happens only with IE11. I have tried running this with Chrome and firefox browsers and it works well.

Is this a known issue with the IE 11 browser, are there any workarounds ?

Is anyone else having problems clicking on the browse button after being UAC'd when attempting to download a file from the Catalog?

http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/DownloadInformation.aspx

In addition, even if UAC works, I get a cryptic proxy prompt asking me to enter my credentials to the "proxy-server."

I can't be the only one experience this. This is with Internet Explorer 8.x.

Internet Explorer 10 cookies and roaming profiles (WebCache directory)

Hi,

I'm having a cookie problem on 2 out of 2 tested environments using Windows Server 2008 R2 (with roaming profiles) and Internet Explorer 10 (IEAK'ed) :S

For instance when I login to www.google.com with my username and password, as long as I'm using my Windows session I'm logged in towww.google.com every time I open the browser (with all iexplore.exe processes closed before). When I logoff my Windows session my (roaming) profile is beeing saved on the fileserver and the locally cached Windows profile is beeing deleted.

When I logon to Windows again (on the same computer) the roaming profile is beeing copied from the fileserver to my client (including the .txt cookies), butwww.google.com isn't logging me in automatically. The same thing happens with other cookies related stuff on websites :S

Also tried WITH and WITHOUT folder redirection for AppData/Cookies/etc, even a newly installed environment with Microsoft defaults is giving me problems.

Anybody out there having the same problem ?

System.Windows.Forms.WebBrowser.DocumentText crashes unmanaged application with IE 9, 10, 11

We have customized unmanaged application using .net 3.5 windows forms, VS2010. We have used System.Windows.Forms.WebBrowser control and DocumentText property worked until IE8. But if I upgrade tolatest IE11, this property crashes application and shows "Application stopped working..."

We are using Win 7, Autodesk Utility Design (AUD) 2009.

I have placed Windows Forms WebBrowser control in a Form and used the below code

webBrowser1.DocumentText="<HTML><HEAD><TITLE>Your Title Here</TITLE></HEAD><BODY>This is a new paragraph</BODY></HTML>";

Another problem noted which does not involves any code. I just launched AUD from desktop shortcut / start menu and shows same message as above "AutoCAD Application has stopped working"

Error messages from event log..

Its same case for IE10 and IE11. In my case I have installed IE10. If I uninstall IE10 and go back to IE8, then everything works

Disable certificate checking in IE9

Is there a way to disable certificate checking in IE9? I have tons of internal applications that keep giving me the typical cert warning, it's annoying and I don't need that.  And no, it's not a time sync issue, and I'm not asking how to install a cert, and changing the Advanced options don't work.

I just want to completely and permanently disable cert checking.

IE 8 crashes on print preview for a simple page with iframe with nested framsets after applying - MS14-052: Cumulative security update for Internet Explorer: September 9, 2014.

I have 3 simple HTML pages Iframe.html, FrameSet.html and Left.html. If I open Iframe.html and click on print preview it crashes.

If i remove the nested framesets then it works just fine. Here is the code for 3 pages.

Iframe.htm Code
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<body>
<iframe src="FrameSet.html"></iframe>
</body>
</html>

FrameSet.htm - Code
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Frameset//EN">
<HTML><HEAD><META content="IE=8.0000" http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible">
<TITLE></TITLE>
</HEAD>
<FRAMESET cols="50%,50%" >
<FRAMESET cols="5%,95%">
<FRAME src="left.html">
<FRAME src="left.html">

<FRAME src="left.html">

left.htm code
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<body>
<div style="color:#0000FF">
  <h3>Left</h3>
</div>
</body>
</html>

Now if I replace the FrameSet.htm - Code with below code it works fine

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Frameset//EN">
<HTML><HEAD><META content="IE=8.0000" http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible">

<FRAME src="left.html">

Please help?

Redirection to a hyperlink

Hi Team,

I have a link which is to be published on Xenapp server for few users.

The IE shall be in Lockdown mode, I can either use IE with - K switch or use a script. I choose a script becasue i can customise the page size.

Now the problem is there is a small hyperlink in the website which is to be published , if we click this link it opens a new IE without Lockdown mode. I am using the below script, is there a way which can help me stop this redirection or if redirection happens also the new IE is also in Lockdown mode....

Set oIE1 = WScript.CreateObject ("InternetExplorer.Application")

oIE1.Navigate "http://xym.com:8080/login.do"
oIE1.Visible = 1
oIE1.AddressBar = 0
oIE1.StatusBar = 0
oIE1.ToolBar = 0
oIE1.MenuBar = 0
