Right Click "Open link InPrivate"

Why doesn't IE have this?!

Is there a way to add this to the right click menu?

There are a number of times that I want to open a link in a new InPrivate browser window. This is one of the things that keeps me using Chrome. It seems like such an obvious use case. Why even offer an InPrivate mode if you can't "link" to it from another browser window?

IE 11 Favorites Drop Down Will Not Stay Open

I cant Add Settings from IE v11, it shows 0 settings

When I try adding settings from IE v11 to my GPO using SCM 3.0, it shows 0 settings available and the "Choose Settings"   has an X but if I choose another product such as IE v10 it shows 1616 or IE v8 has 1442 settings available, meaning I can add these settings.

Is there something wrong with IE v11 Baseline?

We have a problem where IE opens multiple windows when searching in Google. As a result of this we are receiving Google sorry page informing us that Google is receiving automated search requests from our public IP. Is there any quick fix to this problem apart from restoring and reset setting  in IE.

Is anybody else facing this issue.?

Installation of IE package, created in IE Administration Kit 11 without updates

Hello

I have created msi package for IE11 in IE Administration Kit 11, and here is such problem:

When package is installed , it is downloading prerequisites for it(several hotfixes ans updates for MS Windows), also it is downloading latest version of IE11. Example:

I have installed package in August, i will get one version.

I have installed in September, i will get latest September version.

Automatic Updates in IE11 are disabled, so latest version is downloaded and installed during installation, is it possible to avoid it? I need to install on all machine defined version, not the latest one.

Thank you!

Internet Explorer 10 cookies and roaming profiles (WebCache directory)

Hi,

I'm having a cookie problem on 2 out of 2 tested environments using Windows Server 2008 R2 (with roaming profiles) and Internet Explorer 10 (IEAK'ed) :S

For instance when I login to www.google.com with my username and password, as long as I'm using my Windows session I'm logged in towww.google.com every time I open the browser (with all iexplore.exe processes closed before). When I logoff my Windows session my (roaming) profile is beeing saved on the fileserver and the locally cached Windows profile is beeing deleted.

When I logon to Windows again (on the same computer) the roaming profile is beeing copied from the fileserver to my client (including the .txt cookies), butwww.google.com isn't logging me in automatically. The same thing happens with other cookies related stuff on websites :S

Also tried WITH and WITHOUT folder redirection for AppData/Cookies/etc, even a newly installed environment with Microsoft defaults is giving me problems.

Anybody out there having the same problem ?

Internet Explorer 11 Active X custom filtering

Hi all,

Our organization is due to rolling out IE11 across all our Windows 7 Desktops. We are jumping to 11 straight from IE8.

Currently, we are testing IE 11 on our pilot machines.

Now, with IE9 and later, i know that there is a new feature called Active X filtering. You can either enable it or disable it. When we enable it, none of the flash and java sites works anymore.. (very obvious). If you turn it off, it starts working.

Now, our requirement is to just add exceptions for specific sites, URLs' (whitelist) to turn off Active X filter for those while keeping the Active X filtering turned on for the rest.

Is this possible? Through Group Policy hopefully... Any particular IE 11 admx files to download and use?

Thanks. Much appreciated.

Regards,

Ochen

Error: This dialog requires using the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer 7.0 or newer

Since upgrading Internet Explorer to version 11 this error occurs when attempting to navigate a business related website: "This dialog requires using the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer 7.0 or newer".  Using an XP machine, there is no issue.  Using any Windows 7 machine and Internet Explorer 11 the error consistently occurs.

Most solutions reference this: .NET Framework problems with Internet Explorer 11 http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn338133.aspx.  The solution is to create the registry keyEnableIEHosting, and references an issue with .NET 4

The problem description and solution fit my current issue, but when I create the new registry key (in both locations), the same issue is happening.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

IE10 , W2008R2, Roaming Profiles -> still an issue

Hi,

It seems that Microsoft lost focus on a large group of people using W2008R2 still awaiting for a solution
to implement IE10/IE11 in their Enterprise environment.

In short:
- Internet Explorer 10 cookies and roaming profiles or not working on W2008R2
- (hot)fixes have been provided, working for some systems but not for W2008R2

All you can read, including tests from people, also saying that it's not working, on this page.
"Internet Explorer 10 cookies and roaming profiles (WebCache directory)" here in the forum

Question:
- Any idea if this still is under Investigations?
- when can customers expect to be able to migrate to IE10/IE11 and get a working combination W2008R2 with IE10

Cookie issue, fix was flushdns?

$

I wanted to throw this question out there hoping someone would have some details.

I recently did ESPN Fantasy Football draft with friends. Everyone in the group but one guy had logged into their account for the first time. The guy that had logged in before, got a popup that said "Cookies must be enabled to connect to this site", something like that. He was connecting via "Chrome". We were on our buddies wifi and the guy who couldn't connect usually connects from his home. I checked the settings and cookies were enabled. Essentially I ended up doing ipconfig /flushdns, and behold it fixed it. My thought was that the issue had to do with connectivity from the new network.

Questions:
Does flushdns modify the session cookie/cookies or have anything to do with the cookies?
What all is stored in the cookies?
Why would flushdns change anything?

Anyone know of any good resources on what is stored or any good diagrams? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Cheers.

IE11 bug - javascript script continues execution after the tab is closed

$

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open 2 blank tabs in IE.

2. In one of them navigate to this demo page: http://jsfiddle.net/MTJ27/15/ ; it runs 4 web workers in a loop.

3. Check the CPU utilization (on a 8-core machine it should show 50%, for 4 cores or less: 100%).

4. Close the tab that displays the demo page; leave the other tab open.

5. Check the CPU utilization again -> it doesn't drop! IE still runs these web workers (IMO).

It's a bug,  isn't?

Robert

IE 9 - Trying to set local intranet sites to load normally, but have a few load in compatibility mode

$

I've got IE9 installed on my workstations and I've added sites I want to load in compat mode to my GPO in the following location:

User Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Compatibility View

Use Policy list of internet explorer 7 sites - enabled and my local intranet site has been added to the site list.

The problem I'm having is that it doesn't appear to actually be enforcing that behavior.  I go to the site in question, and it doesn't load in compat mode.  I can click the compat mode button and it runs in compat mode and fixes the graphical issue. I know the site can run in compat mode, but for some reason the policy list of sites isn't enforcing through GPO to load the sites in compatibility mode.

I have verified that under Tools>Compatibility View Settings the checkbox for "Display intranet sites in compatbility view" is not checked.  That is how I want it set, because we don't want all of our local sites loading in compat mode, only the ones I designate.

I've also run rsop.msc locally and verified that I see the GPo setting is enabled, and I can even click on the list of sites to verify my site is listed.

For all intensive purposes, the GPO is being applied to my workstation and every setting I can think to check looks right.  Does anyone know why it's not forcing this behavior?

Directing downloads

$

I use both IE and Firefox.  With Firefox I can click Tools>Options>General and select to either have all downloads sent to a specific location (in my case I use Desktop for that location) or to ask me each time where I want the download sent.

I cannot figure out how to accomplish the same thing with IE10.  I want to send each download to a different folder on my hard drive.  Is there an option where I can tell IE10 toalways ask where I want the download sent?  It's probably just me.  I'm an old fart (74) and pretty much a computer dummy.  Please help.
