How can I get rid of the search box at the top of my browser just right of the tab? I did the Tools/Manage Add-ons thing and removed it from there but it keeps coming back. It’s starting to get annoying!

Hi,
I am having problem with Al Naddy home page. Since I visited alnaddy.com website, the home page in IE9 has changed to alnaddy website. I tried changing the home page in Tools > Internet Settings. Disabling and Uninstalling Al Naddy toolbar. Removing it from the Registry. Still it is on the landing page.
Please suggest any solution.
Thanks
I was requested to move this post to the IE thread.
I was checking billing today on my MS account due to an unexpected charge on my credit card. I logged into Outlook.com, accessed account settings then billing. When I accessed the billing page, it prompted for a code since it was the first time I had accessed billing on this computer. When I entered the code, there was a checkbox to remember this computer so I checked it.
The charge did not appear so I decided to check my wife's account. When I tried to log out from the billing screen I could not. Every time I checked logout, it just returned me to the same page. I then closed IE11 and logged back into Outlook.com with my wife's account. When I browsed back to the billing page, it opened up MY billing information, not hers. Oops, this is bad if I let someone use my computer to access their Outlook/MS Account.
To go a little further, I decided to purge all browsing history from IE. I unchecked "Preserve favorite website data" and checked everything else. Repeated the process and logged in as my wife, I still get my billing information and I can't log out.
Normally I would just call this annoying, but due to the potentially sensitive nature of the data, this is a security issue.
This question was posed back in February without a satisfactory answer or any resolution. It isNOT a web developer question.
I never had this problem with earlier versions of IE all the way up to version IE8. Just my new IE10.0.9200.16635 with my new Win 8 Pro.
My Home Page is a 15 year old HTML file of custom bookmark links. Included among them is a page of Newspaper links, each newspaper link when clicked would replace an earlier newspaper link. Example codes: [edit: links werenot accepted]
1. "NYT Link" target = newspaper - New York Times
2. "WP Link" target = newspaper - Washington Post
When I clicked one #1, NYT would open in new tab. Click on #2 and WP opens in that tab, and so on down the list...
It continues to function flawlessly in the latest Firefox but I'm damned if it will work in IE10 where it formerly did in 6 and 8.
I don't want a plethora of windows opening - just open tabs in one window only. I have my reasons.
Before anyone asks, I'm not computer illiterate, this new PC is custom built by me sourcing components from many different vendors. I have successfully run my own internet web sites for over 15 years. Those are probably the reasons I have largely crossed over to Win 8 Pro with an absolute minimum of problems since 24th June.
Many thanks in advance

Hello,
we are actually facing an issue with IE9.
The function 'send link by e-mail' works very well (Outlook as default program) for any intranet and internet webpage.
However, it doesn't work when we access an online pdf on internet : nothings happens when we select 'send link by e-mail'. It works when we access a pdf stored on our intranet.
I have done some tests and it comes from the protected mode, when protected mode is on then this function has no effect (for pdf documents). When the protected mode is off then the function works again.
This problem concerns only pdf document, is there any explanation or a solution to solve that problem ?
Thank you in advance !
I have various reports generated by Windows Server DFS Replication that can only be viewed in IE9 or IE8. When using IE 10, I had to manually change the compatibility view option to support IE8. I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 Preview and am using IE11. I can no longer view these reports nor place IE into compatibility view.
Can you tell me how to display a webpage in IE8 compatibility view when using IE11?
Note- I've tried F12/Emulation/User Agent String = IE8. It didn't do anything. I've also tried alt/tools/compatibility view settings/adding the website to the list. It won't add this html file to the list.
Please,
How do I stop this pop-up nag bar from constantly asking me if I want to turn AutoComplete on? I have all checkboxes for AutComplete unchecked in Internet Options/Content and even have unchecked both use inline autocomplete options in Advanced but I still get constantly asked if I want to use AutoComplete.
I would never like to use AutoComplete EVER thanks for asking and don't ask me ever again! Sadly isn't an option in the AutoComplete section. Is there a registry change I can make so I never see this pop up again? I searched for this online but so far have only found countless methods of unchecking the boxes as I have done already. I was even tempted to turn the pop up blocker to max but I doubt it would work on this.
Thanks in advance.
Does anyone know of a tool that will automatic cycle between open tabs in IE9 (or IE8) at some sort of interval (30 seconds for example)?
I found such a tool for Firefox, but I'm displaying things that will only display properly in IE.
I also found a tool that will simply rotate between open programs (alt tab), which could work by just having two separate IE's running, however I need to show the 2 pages in full screen mode, and for some reason the alt-tab tool is not working when one of my screens is in full screen mode. I also find that I can only have one IE window in full screen mode at a time. All the tabs on that particular window will be full screen mode, but if you load a separate instance of IE it won't run in full screen mode.
I'm displaying some reports on a large 55" display. They display in IE, and I want to rotate between a couple automatically. I suspect I could code the pages somehow, but that's more advanced than I can handle.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!

We have an older application that offers a variety of drop-down lists from which the user is allowed to select values. In IE 10 the user cannot select values from drop-downs, this is not a problem in previous versions of IE. The drop-downs use JavaScript. We have tried altering the compatibility settings in IE 10 but that does not resolve the issue.
I try to generate thumbnail with HTML5 canvas
the idea is simple, use img to load and draw to canvas
function createThumbnail(url){ var img = new Image(); img.onload = function(){ var context = canvas.getContext('2d'); context.drawImage(...); context = img = null; } img.src = url; }
but some how i found that even i have set the img = null, but the memory usage (monitor in task manager) are keep growing.
when i rapidly call the createThumbnail method the memory usage are growing and finally "Not enough available storage to complete this operation" will throw at the line where img.src = url
at this point memory usage are 1gb+
I have try to reuse img object but still same.
this is happen on IE10 (8,9 not tested) but no Chrome and Opera
Any idea?
Thank you very much.
i recent upgraded to Windows 8.1.when i finalized the OS installment, i saw an option to completely turn off IE. i just remembered that i have a link that i specifically need to access with IE. how do i reintegrate IE? or is it easier for me to just downgrade IE?

I've been running into some issues managing the size of the new IE10 WebCache. I am running a terminal services server where the users have local profiles. The users have a disk quota which was previously set to around 20MB. This had always been a sufficient amount prior to IE10.
After the upgrade to IE10 we noticed that many users were suddenly hitting their quota and discovered the culprit, WebCache. Since then I've been looking for ways to manage the size (or existence) of the WebCache, but haven't come across any good solutions.
I have updated my domain controller with the Win 8/Server 2012 policy files and tried the setting which appear to have been created for this purpose. None of these setting seem to do what I am expecting. Here are some of the settings I have enabled under Settng User Configuration/Policies/Admin Templates/Windows Components/Internet Explorer/
Does anyone have any information on what needs to be done to get this new WebCache under control?
When the mouse dwells over the image map area of the server-side web page the following occurs: The map coordinates text box appears and flashs at a very high rate; The IE process take more and more memory the longer the dwell time, to a max of about 1.9
giga bytes (I.E. there is a memory leak); The CPU usage spikes during the mouse over dwell period, and remains spiked during the after dwell time catch up period (it seems to use about 100% of 1 cpu, overall cpu load depends on how many CPUs you have); The
IE window locks up until the text map coordinates box buffer is cleared (can take up to an hour after moving the mouse away from the image map) (on my computer the ratio is about 1 to 1, meaning for every second of dwell time, it will take a second with the
mouse NOT over the diagram for the text buffer to be exhausted. I.E. one minute of dwell time creates two minutes of text messages).
As far as I know this issue only occurs with IE9. On previous versions of Internet Explorer server-side image maps always worked fine.
This issue has been found on 3 computers so far: Two windows Vista 32 bit and one Windows 7 32 bit. However, it worked fine on a friends windows 7 64 bit computer.
I wrote some
web notes with more detail including a link to a
screen shot showing memory and CPU usage
I also have an
example server-side image map web page.
I have searched and searched and not found anything about this issue anywhere (which is maybe just because I didn't find it)
All computers tested were current with windows updates.
Originally, I posted this issue elsewhere, and was referred to here as possibly a better place for it.
I guess I don't really have a question. I am just trying to help by pointing out something that doesn't seem to be working properly. The question might be: Is Microsoft aware of this issue? and when might it be fixed?
I have installed IE10 and I am wondering if there is a way to change the color of the scrollbar. The light grey is so light it's hard to see. I have tried a few things and searched around and come up with nothing. I love the preview otherwise and would like to keep it but this one thing might make me use another as I swap back and forth between IE and Comodo Dragon.
Thanks in advance,
~Artt
