IE sporadically aborting images being downloaded over SSL
For an out-of-the-box application deployed to our web servers, a few images are sporadically not being downloaded and the broken image (X) is displayed. The images that fail to download will vary from test to test but are typically restricted to the images in the left navigation menu bar. There are 5 navigation images and usually 1-3 will be broken for any given request to the page. The images are *.png and size ranges from 6000-8000 bytes. There are several other images on the page but they never seem to be an issue.
This problem only occurs using HTTPS and IE (tried versions 8, 9, 10, 11). IE works fine over HTTP and the web application works fine in Chrome and Firefox (both HTTP and HTTPS). This affects all users (small user base at this time). Most users are running Windows 7 but this also fails when IE client is run from Windows Server 2008 R2.
In working with the web application vendor they were not able to replicate the issue in their local test environment. This problem occurs in all of our environments (test, uat, prod). Another out-of-the-box application provided by same vendor deployed to same web servers does not have the issue (but doesn’t have as many images).
While working the web application vendor, we were looking at a Wireshark trace that showed the client (IE) was cancelling the request for image(s) just milliseconds after the initial request was made for no apparent reason.
We have tried numerous IE setting changes (including IE Reset Settings).
Any suggestions on what could be causing this issue or how to further troubleshoot the issue to identify the problem?

Internet Explorer crashes occasionally

IE lost in my comp
I am running windows 8 on my computer.
IE was working and present on my computer yesterday, this morning I wake up and it's nowhere to be found, and when I try to download it I am told my computer already has it. I search it to repin it, but it doesn't show up in my search.....now what?

Internet Explorer 11 setup cannot recognize it's own /update-no switch?
Building a package with the Internet Explorer 11 Administration Kit (Internal Distribution) spits outIE11-Setup-Full.exe (which seems to be an IExpress setup) and
IE11-Setup-Full.msi. IE11-Setup-Full.exe does not recognize the
/update-no switch. Is there any way either of these can be silently deployedwithout checking for updates?

IE11 and Chrome 36: How do I prevent the address line from adding the "http:" prefix to an address?

Printing IE 11 windows 8.1 pro
I have 6 new computes and only one of them is having this issue. I can not print to any printer, or even print to file when trying to print from explorer. ctrl P brings up the print dialog window and I hit print and nothing will print, the printer
does not see the job. If I print from print preview screen explorer will freeze and crash. All other programs work perfectly fine, the issue is with IE 11, and all updates are installed.

IE 10 and 11 freeze after KB2962872 - Web Application with File Upload/Download
IE 10 and 11 freeze after KB2962872 update with the following scenario:
Upload a file to a server, the server responses with a file download (like a simple conversion service).
Result: When the server is sending the file, IE freezes and process iexplore.exe is running with high CPU load.
IE 8 and 9 are not affected. And IE 10 and 11 without the KB2962872 update also work fine.
If IE 11 with KB2962872 is running in InPrivate mode, then it also works. In contrast to that, IE 10 with KB2962872 in InPrivate mode does not work.

Just select any file. After clicking on "Upload", an empty text file "test.txt" should be returned. Instead nothing happens and the browser crashes/freezes.

issues with scrollintoview javascript method in ie10.
Hi,
scollintoview(false) javascript method causing the entire web page to shift to the left side of the window in ie10. Where as it is working perfectly fine in ie9.

yahoo certificate not recognized on my windows explorer vista
Hello, i sign on yahoo as homepage so i get there then click mail, but its says (not recommended) >> as certificate is not identified or valid.
can still read domestic mail, yet bing will not engage to translate chinese characters to english. what do i do ? how doi get rid of that stupid not recommended sentence..?

Audio in IE 11 crackles, Chrome works just fine.

Hey all... Hoping to figure out why it is when I play an audio/video stream in IE 11. I have cleaned cache, tried to disable plugins. But IE will always crackle. However, Google Chrome will play the exact same stream just fine.

This is annoying, it keeps on showing file:// instead of the webadress... is this not something Microsoft should have been able to fix by now ???

An IE reset deletes all favorites?
Hi -
I was in the process of troubleshooting a browser issue for a user. I went to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced and clicked the RESET button. Now all of his favorites are gone. I was under the impression that the Favorites stayed intact, and according to the info below it should not have been removed. Any ideas what happened?

Internet Security Settings in Windows 7
I am running Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 11. I am trying to find a listing of the recommended settings for the Security section under Internet Properties. I have found several listings for the Advanced section, but not Security.
Can anyone guide me to a listing like this or a website that gives specific details about what each setting does or controls so that I can adjust my system correctly. I find that using the Windows 7 factory settings slows the system down somewhat.

IE 11 wont connect following update to Windows 8.1
Since I updated to 8.1 I just get the 'this page cant be displayed' message. I've tried resetting and restarting but no luck. Any help?

Group Policy not populating IE11's compatibility sites.
We normally do not allow IE updates, but we got a pallet of new computers with IE11 preinstalled on them from Dell. I figured now is a good time to get this working in our environment.
The issue is that under our group policy settings are not putting the websites we need in compatibility mode. I have verified the group policy is applied to my computer using rsop.msc and I verified the settings in there. However when I try to visit our loan application which runs at http://192.168.1.9 it shows a browser not supported message and says to use IE 5.5 or later. Well if one were to manually add the site in compatibility mode, then it would work. So we want to avoid the calls to IT Support on how to add sites to compatibility mode and just control it from our end via Group Policy.
So under User Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Internet Explorer > Compatibility View : we have these set:
Include updated Web site lists from Microsoft - Enabled
Use Policy List of Internet Explorer 7 sites - Enabled
Show:

https://another website

Dragging from the address bar to desktop... Why open a new window?
Running 64bit Windows 7 Pro with SP1 installed. Also running Internet Explorer 11.
When I drag the icon from the address bar of IE to my desktop to create a shortcut to that webpage, the current tab will close and a new browser window opens and loads the page. Why does this happen, and more importantly, how can I stop it?

How to open a visio file from onedrive directly without saving it in my local computer.
Hello there,
I have one visio file located in OneDrive. I want it to open directly in Internet explorer 9 after clicking on the link. I have visio viewer ready in my computer. Problem is that the visio file is getting downloaded after clicking on the link. Then if I click on the downloaded visio file it is getting opened in internet explorer 9. I don't want to downlaod the file. I want to visio file get opened directly internet explorer just like online office web apps. I have checked it IE11 as well as IE9 but both of them exhibiting same behavior. Please help.

Custom protocol handler is not executed in unload event
I have a Windows application which opens a web application at a certain point which gives back the control to the Windows app with a custom protocol handler call (myprot://xy/continue) as source of a hidden iframe that I create and remove again when it's loaded.
Everything works fine when the user finishes correctly but I also want to handle an abortion when the user closes the browser. In Chrome and Firefox it works perfectly fine to make the protocol handler call in the onbeforunload event but in IE the iframe
is not created. If I use other protocols like http or ftp it is created and works perfectly. I also tried just setting the src attribute of an existing iframe. The source is changed in the DOM but agin for the custom protocol nothing is executed - only http
or ftp calls are made.
This seems a bit odd that only my custom protocol isn't executed. Does anybody has a clue what I could do or is there a security setting so that my protocol is declared as safe?
