With slight changes to the graphical user interface of Microsoft products, I am finding it harder to navigate efficiently. Specifically, in IE11 (Win 7) I am finding it takes slightly more effort to find the current tab.
In cases where I have many tabs open (six or more) I find I have to scan across all the tabs for find the tab of the current website I am looking at. This can get annoying and tedious if I am opening and closing many websites.
I feel previous versions of IE highlighted the tabbed in a more visually striking way (I think the current tab was even slightly taller than the other tabs). Now the cues indicating the current tab are more difficult to notice, especially with multiple colours for different tab groups. I find the little [X] on the current tab hard to find as it easily blends in with the webpage title text on each tab. As well, as I mouse over an [X] appears on the each tab, and that can be deceiving.
The point is, if I want to close a tab amongst several open tabs, I have to scan across to EACH tab until I find the one with the [X]. I think the current tab should be more visually singled out.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can more easily find the current tab?
