IE Aborting Image Download with src attribute when over SSL and getting Content-Type header value image/jpg

$

0

Images are not downloaded at all and page looks broken.

The same page works fine over HTTP but shows the problem over HTTPS. Works fine in firefox and chrome.

Checked and found the problem in IE 9, 10, 11

Is it some bug in IE, I have searched the forums and searched internet. Got following but are not relevant to this case.

  • Resetting src of the img (Ruled out, not doing any reset)
  • Do not save encrypted pages to disk  is checked in advanced security options (Ruled out, unchecked)
  • Using TLS 1.2 with SSL 2.0 (Ruled out, SSL 2.0 unchecked)
  • Cache-preventing headers: Cache-Control header with the tokens no-cache, no-store (Ruled out, no such headers)
  • Restarts due to parser reset owing XML Namespace declaration, Meta tags etc. (Ruled out, image tags are afterwards)

Thanks in advance for help!

What's the difference between the two IE11 installers listed below?

Hello,

What is the difference between these two IE-11 downloads (image below)? One is 28MB and one is 54MB. I am having a lot of post-installation issues with the 54MB installer (i.e. opens blank pages, can't access a simple page like google, Windows search stops indexing). When I install the 28MB download, (so far) I don't have any issues. Since the 28MB installation works, it sounds like my desision is easy but I would still like to know the difference between the two. BTW, the quick install is only 2MB, so I know I don't have the quick install.

Any help would be appriciated, thank you in advance.

Sorry, for the spacing on the links below. This system won't let me add 'real' links until my account is varified.

ActiveX control load

I am an administrator. ActiveX will not load for a non-admin person in IE9 but if I log into the computer as an admin the ActiveX will load. This tells me that there is permission on the computer that prevents non-admin personnel from automatically loading ActiveX controls. Can someone tell me where I can adjust the user's permission to allow automatic loading.

Issue With VML tag

Hi,

I am facing problem when pasting text and Image content from WinWord to mshtml control .

Since the body of the clipboard content has VML tag and due to this , the image is not displayed in mshtml control.

By unregistering VGX.dll , the image gets displayed properly .

Would like to know if any alternate solution exists other than unregistering the VGX.dll.

IE version : IE10

Office version: 2010

The clipboard format is of type CF_HTML and the body of the content has VML tags which is not recognized by mshtml.

Thanks

IE 10 blank new tab and missing favourites problem only when requiring a proxy for first page visit

$

We are having a very strange situation with one (only) of our 64bit 2008r2 remote desktop session host servers.  The problem we are having is that when any new tab or window is opened it must first open a page that is in the

internet options -> connections ->LAN settings -> Advanced -> Exception. Do not use proxy server for addresses beginning with

Area.  OR ELSE....

The entire contents of the favourites menu below "Organize favourites" is missing, though the favourites explorer bar, and tool bar display the links, but they cannot be opened in the current tab and will not create a new tab when you click open in new tab.  HOWEVER, this problem is instantly resolved if you manually type into the address bar and visit a site that is in the proxy exception list.  Then that tab starts to function normally, the favourites menu is populated and works, and so does the favourites explorer bar, and toolbar, and other websites can be visited.

This is extremely problematic.  Looking at the proxy server logs, when the problem is happening no attempt is made at contacting the proxy server.

Ways we've encountered this problem

  • If the user has the option set that a new tab opens the 'new tab page' then any new tab experiences the problem.
  • If the browser is set to open the user's home page(s) then any of the home pages that are not in the exception list may or may not open successfully. But again any of them that opened a page that was not in the proxy exception list will experience the problem
  • when a user tries to click on a website link from an email or document that is not in the proxy exception list, as this opens a new window or tab and it is just blank.
  • when a website not in the exception list tries to open a new window/tab

This problem is happening for all users on that RD session host server, including domain admins, except for THE domain/enterprise administrator.  Our other 2008r2 64bit RD session host servers and windows 7 machines with the same version of IE installed on it does not have this problem.

We have tried deleting all IE data, resetting IE, re-registering the ieproxy.dll with the regserv32 command and the problem continues.

Our proxy settings for each user is coming from the group policy setting of 'computer config -> policies -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Internet Explorer -> Make proxy settings per-machine = enabled'

and THE domain administrator choosing to enable the proxy server and disable automatic proxy detection.

Is anyone familiar with the jcp.drivermapping.net adware that shuts down Internet Explorer and redirects Bing and Google searches.  It also continually changes my default browser to do it's dirty work.  I've done all the traditional solutions like cleaning up my Program and Features and changing all the appropriate Internet Options in the Tools menu including setting the default browser.  Since it closes down my browser every time I try to download a solution I'm struggling to get rid of it.  Can anyone help?

IE 32 bit pinned to taskbar is opening 64-bit IE

Hi All,

Some users are experiencing this but not all. For some users, when they pin the 32-bit version of IE to their taskbar and click on it, it opens the 64-bit version. I've attempted to unpin and re-pin the 32-bit version of IE but still the 64-bit opens when clicking on it. I've checked the privacy setting in the taskbar properties, and all is fine. I'm not sure why the 32-bit version of IE opens the 64-bit when pinned to the Start Menu. Does anyone has a suggestion on a fix.

Thanks

Hello,

I encounter an issue with my all internet browsers. I recently restored my computer to the factory settings (by installing windows from the DVDs) and I have issues with the all the internet browsers. I installed all the updates and the latest browsers.

I tried to disable all add-ons with no effect. I ran the sfc, dxdiag with no results. Below you can find all the Error Events from the Windows logs of the last 5 days.

Thank you in advance,

Nicos

Nicos

IE11 (desktop), Win8.1: Java not working / compatible since update!

$

Hi there,

Prior to the 8.1 update I was able to run java fine on the desktop IE10.  For work this is essential, as I access dropbox to upload files, etc.  I'd much rather keep using IE, however since 8.1 I get an alert that some of my add-ons are not compatible with the new enhanced security features, etc.

I turned off "Enhanced Protected Mode", toggled various settings, uninstalled/reinstalled latest java, etc.  Still nothing working.  I'd rather not get a new browser as I love IE... any solutions?

I'm running a 64bit OS & processor, high-end machine.

Many, many thanks!

Andrew

IE 11 not launching in app mode

IE 11 will not launch in app mode, it only will launch in desktop mode. I have read the other posts and my issue is different. There are no other browsers on my machine than IE 11. In the control panel, in internet options, I set internet explorer to the default setting for all programs. I then unpin IE from the metro start and repin it to the start. Same damn result happens every single time, it will launch in desktop mode. I've rebooted, deleted cache temp files, cleaned registry...nothing changes the result.

Here is the kicker, two days ago it worked for 5 minutes! There are no other software on this machine, it is a brand new Lenovo Yoga 11s. What is up with this browser not running in app mode?

Internet explorer 11 not working in app mode

Hi,

I have a Lenovo desktop computer with Windows 8.1. IE 11 worked perfectly well in both app and desktop modes but since 2-3 weeks my IE doesn't open in app mode. I think it might be linked to the update following the IE security problem.

I tried to make the change described in a previous post, namely:

Click the tools button in IE 11(IE 11 on the desktop), choose Internet options, navigate toprograms tab, on the opening Internet explorerchoose how you open links:

Make sure we have always in Internet explorer or Let Internet Explorer decide selected.

BUT in my case the tools/internet option/programs tab doesn't allow me to change this parameter... it's blocked on "always in internet explorer on the desktop" mode.... it doesn't allow me to select anything else...

Is there a solution to this ? please advise.

Thanks

Internet Zone display on Status Bar

Good day.

Not a huge issue, but a bit cumbersome.  We run our IE installations with tightly controlled security zones.  When troubleshooting scripting issues for end users, the first question I ask is "which zone displays at the bottom of the IE window".

I am currently testing IE 9 (the actual released version...not the beta, but there's no forum on the released version yet) in our environment before rolling it out to everyone and I have found that while there is still a status bar at the bottom, it no longer displays which zone the currently displayed site falls under.

Is there a way to restore this functionality (I'm sure I'm missing a checkbox somewhere).  This is very useful when troubleshooting and is truly needed in our environment.

Regards,

Scott

How to apply IE11 to install.wim offline using DISM

Hi,

Could someone please help me with the steps required to apply IE11 offline to install.wim using DISM? I have done some searching but I am unable to find any discussions around applying IE11 to install.wim offline using DISM. I tried extracting IE11-Windows6.1-x86-en-us.exe but the process is failing to install anything from my working folder where the extracted files reside.

Thank you,

Rob

Online video not playing

I have windows 8.1 with IE 11 that I can't watch online video from local news. The commercial clip is playing fine but when it comes to the news video, it says "sorry, clip not found. Media not found' and I only have one option to click 'OK'. The video screen stays black.

The same video playing fine on my Windows 7 Pro, so I am sure it is not the source but on my IE 11 windows 8.1. Any tips to make correct this? thanks
